Update Cricket Galaxy S4 SCH-R970C to Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat Via OmniROM

Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat Official ROMs are available for many devices and if we look at the Custom ROMs, there is huge amount of ROMs based on Android 4.4.4 are available as well. However, if you are looking for more Customization and a lot more than what CM 11 has to offer, then you must try the OmniROM. One of the best ROM available for Samsung devices, since this ROM has more features of the Galaxy device and also because of the Multi-Window, this ROM reached the heights and still getting on top with every update. CM 11 might be available for Galaxy S4 Cricket, but as OmniROM is full of Customization and rich with features it will surely beat it within a Second.

In this Article,  we will show you How To Update Cricket Galaxy S4 SCH-R970C to Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat Via OmniROM. But before we begin, make sure:

  1. That you have a Well Charged Battery, 60%-80% is better.
  2. Back-Up all your important ContactsCall Logs & Messages. It is highly recommended in case of any mishap or data loss to back up all your important data.

  4. Check your device model, Go To Setting > About and Make sure that it is SCH-R970C.
  5. Do not try it on any other device.
  6. Enable USB Debugging Mode
  7. Download USB Driver For Samsung Devices: Link

How To Install It.

  • Connect your device with PC.
  • Copy and Paste the Above zip files to the root of your sdcard.
  • Disconnect the cable.
  • Turn Off your Device
  • Open Recovery mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons until you see some text on screen.

CWM/PhilZ Touch Recovery Users.

  1. Back-up your ROM using the Recovery.
  2. To Perform a Back-up, Navigate to Back-up and Restore on Next screen, Choose Back-up again.
  3. Go back to Main Screen after the Back-up is complete.
  4. First Choose ‘Wipe Cache’.
  5. Then Navigate to ‘advance’ and choose ‘Devlik Wipe Cache’, so you won’t get in any bootloop.
  6. Then Finally Choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
  7. Navigate to ‘Install zip from sd card’ another windows will open in front of you.
  8. Select ‘choose zip from sd card’ from the Options.
  9. Select the OmniROM.zip file and confirm the installation on next screen.
  10. Once the Installation is Over, Go back and Flash Google Apps
  11. Once the Installation is Over, Select +++++Go Back+++++
  12. Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

TWRP Users.

  1. Tap on Wipe Button and Select Cache, System, Data.
  2. Swipe the Confirmation Slider.
  3. Go back to Main Menu and Tap Install Button.
  4. Locate the OmniROM.zip, Google Apps and Swipe the Slider To install it.
  5. Once the Installation is Over, you will be promoted to Reboot System Now
  6. Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

Solve Signature Verification Error:

  1. Open Recovery.
  2. Navigate to install zip from Sdcard
  3. Navigate to Toggle Signature Verification and Press Power Button and See if it is disabled or not. Disable it and then Install the Zip without any Error.

That is it! Just wait for almost 5-minutes, you’ll find your Cricket Galaxy S4 SCH-R970C running Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat OmniROM, Go to Settings > About to verify.
