The Honor 8 Pro packs up top-class specifications at a very affordable price. The phone comes out with a 5.7-inch QHD display. Huawei has used HiSilicon Kirin 960 CPU to power up the phone. It equips a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Huawei Honor 8 Pro uses a dual camera setup at its back and there’s an 8 MP camera on the front. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Huawei Honor 8 Pro has made its way to several regions. The phone has been caught up by some developers as well, and as a result, its TWRP recovery is out. You can now modify your brand new Huawei Honor 8 Pro the way you want. TWRP recovery also means that you can root your phone now. Before installing TWRP and rooting your phone, you must unlock its bootloader. Here in this guide, we will have a look on the method to unlock the bootloader of Huawei Honor 8 Pro. After unlocking the bootloader, we will install TWRP and Root Huawei Honor 8 Pro.

Install TWRP, Root Huawei Honor 8 Pro
- Download and extract the ADB and Fastboot package on your computer’s desktop.
- Enable USB Debugging on your phone.
- Enable OEM Unlocking on your phone.
- Install Huawei USB drivers on your computer.
- Unlock the Bootloader of your Huawei Honor 8 Pro
- Backup your contacts, call logs, SMS messages and media content.
- Use OEM data cable to establish a connection between your PC and your phone.
Download TWRP Recovery and Root files for your Huawei Honor 8 Pro
- download twrp-3.1.1-1-duk.img – Rename this file to recovery.img after downloading.

Procedure to flash recovery
- Open the extracted platform-tools folder.
- Copy the Recovery.img file to the platform-tools folder.
- Now inside the platform-tools folder, press and hold the shift key on the keyboard and then right-click on an empty area within the platform-tools folder. From the menu that will open up, click on “Open command window here“.
- Connect your phone to your PC now.
- In the command window, enter the following commands one by one.
- adb devices
- Press enter, this command should return a small code verifying your connection.
- adb reboot bootloader
- Press enter, this command will reboot your phone into the bootloader mode.
- fastboot devices
- Press enter, this command will verify if your phone is connected properly in fastboot mode or not.
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- Press enter to flash the recovery now.
- fastboot reboot
- Press enter to reboot the device now.
- adb devices
Procedure to root the phone
- Power down your device. Now turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Up + Power button. Your phone should boot into TWRP recovery now.
- In TWRP, slide through the “Swipe to allow modifications” option.
- Connect your phone to your PC now.
- Now tap Mount > Mount the Data Partition or Internal storage.
- Connect your phone to your PC now.
- Copy the Phh’s Superuser file to your phone.
- Disconnect your phone now and get back to the main menu in TWRP.
- In TWRP, tap Install > Install Zip > Locate and select the file you just copied > Swipe to confirm flash.
- Once the file has been flashed, reboot the system.
- Go to the Play Store now and install Phh’s Superuser application. That’s all.
