S5 Software Update Failed AT&T:

As I have said before, AT&T users are the ones who are affected by this problem the most. Heed the instructions below.

  • The first thing you must do is, make sure your WiFi connection is stable and fast. The update will take at least one hour to download.
  • Make sure your phone battery is at 70%. If not please connect it to Charger.
  • You need to have free Space. The minimum free space you required to get the download is 3GB. Although the update is most likely to be 600MB or less.

Once the given requirements are achieved. All that left is to get the update and it should be downloaded and installed without any problems. If you have no luck. Try the followings.

You need to Wipe your cache partition. Sometimes there is corrupt temporary data in your device cache. It can cause such issues. Try the following Instructions.

  • Turn off your device.
  • Now press and hold home+Power+Volume Up key.
  • Release the power button once you see a logo, but keep holding home and Volume up keys.
  • Now when you see Android logolet go both buttons.
  • Use the volume down button to navigate and highlight wipe cache partition.
  • Now use the power key to select the option.
  • You have to select ‘Yes‘ when you’ll be prompted for next menu.
  • Now wait for the process to be completed, once it’s done highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press power button to select it.
  • All Done.

Connect your device to PC. Open Kies and make sure your device is connected to Kies. Once your device is detected by Kies, it will prompt the software update. Follow the screen instructions to update your device.

If you want to update your device through OTA. You need to factory reset your device. Once your device is fresh and clean. Head over to the settings and update through OTA. Heed the instructions below to Factory reset your Galaxy S5.

  • Turn off your device.
  • Now press and hold home+Power+Volume Up key.

  • Now use the power key to select the option.

Galaxy S5 Not Getting Lollipop 5.1.1 Update:

If your device is not getting any through Kies or OTA. You need to factory reset your device. Once your device is fresh and clean. Head over to the settings and update through OTA. Also, you can connect to Kies and update your device.

However, if you have no luck after that. I would suggest that you should go to the nearest Samsung Service center.
