Install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop On Galaxy A3 A300F [Official]

Samsung’s mid-ranger, the Galaxy A3 has jumped in the Lollipop ground. The device debuted with Android 4.4 KitKat, but Samsung made the Galaxy A3 owners pretty happy way early. Users in Russia have witnessed Android 5.0.2 OTA. In the first place, this device has a very nice metal build, and now the device has received the greatest version of Android OS as well, that adds charm to the software of this device. Galaxy A3 has become quite a great combination of hardware and software now. The new update brings all the goodies for this device. Top of the line changes include a new UI that has been revamped according to Google’s new Material Design. It offers flat and smooth graphics now. Notifications can be seen on the lock screen in the form of cards now. New multi-user modes and guest mode have been introduced. Over all performance of the device and battery life enhancements have been made. Since this is the biggest iteration in the history of update, its worth updating your Galaxy A3 right now.

At the time of writing this post, this update is available for Galaxy A3 A300F only. If you own this variant and you’re living out of Russia, you may not be able to update your device through OTA. You will have to use a different method instead. Before you start looking for the method here and there, we have already written it down here for you. Early Preparations & Precautions

  • This guide is only for the Galaxy A3 A300F. Do not try this on any other device. Make sure that you check your device’s model number in settings > system > about device.
  • Make sure that your batter has 50% of its battery. This is recommended in order to avoid any power issues during the installation process.
  • Enable USB debugging on your device. To do so, you need to enable developer options first by going to settings > system > about device > tap build number for 7 times. Once you’ve the developer options enabled under settings > system > developer options > enable USB debugging.
  • Backup all of your important stuff. This includes contacts, call logs, text messages and your important media content. This is important since you need to wipe your phone to achieve a neat and clean installation.
  • Make sure that you’ve backed up your EFS partition [Strongly recommended].
  • If your device has a custom recovery installed previously, you may create a Nandroid backup. Otherwise, skip this step.
  • Factory reset your phone by booting into recovery mode. To do so, turn off your phone completely. Now turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power Key. Once you’re in recovery mode, wipe factory data.
  • While using Odin3, turn off Samsung Kies if you’ve installed it. Also turn off your Firewall or any Antivirus software if enabled.
  • Use original data cable to establish connection between your device and your PC.
  • This is official firmware and it won’t void the warranty of your phone. It will not cause any damage to your phone either.
  • Follow these instructions to the letter to make it happen successfully.

Required Downloads

  1. Download & Install Samsung USB drivers. MAC users do not need to install drivers or Samsung Kies.
  2. Download & extract Odin3 v3.10.6. MAC users may use JOdin.
  3. Download & extract firmware for your device.

How To Update Galaxy A3 A300F To Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Official Firmware

  1. Make sure that you’ve carefully prepared according to the instructions listed above. Also make sure that you’ve made the necessary downloads and installs as explained.
  2. Open Odin3 V3.10.6.exe on your PC. MAC users will use JOdin.
  3. Connect your phone to your PC or MAC in download mode now. To do so, turn off your phone completely first. Now turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power Key. Once your phone turns on and shows you warning, press Volume Up to continue. You are in download mode now. Plug in the data-cable now. As soon as Odin3 detects your phone, the ID:COM bar in the top-right corner should turn blue or yellow depending upon your version of Odin.
  4. Load the downloaded and extracted firmware file, which should be in .tar format. To do so, click the “AP” tab and locate the extracted .tar firmware file. If you’re using an older version of Odin, you will use “PDA” tab to load the firmware file. Once you’ve selected the file, it will take a while for Odin to load it. Wait patiently at this point.

  6. Once you’re done with it according to the steps explained above, you’re set to flash the firmware now. Simply click the “Start” button now.
  7. This will start flashing the firmware on your device. It will take a few minutes for Odin to complete installation. Once the installation is finished, Odin will show “Finished” status in the installation box, the ID:COM bar will turn green now. Your device will reboot automatically if you ticked the Auto-reboot option before the installation. Disconnect your device now.
  8. If your device doesn’t reboot automatically, you may reboot it manually now. To do so, disconnect it from your PC and keep the power key pressed for a while and your device will turn off. Now turn it on by pressing power key only.
  9. For the first boot it may take up to 10 minutes, so hold on tighter. Once your device boots up, set it up and enjoy the all new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on it. That’s all 🙂

Sony Xperia Z3 Dual is one of the variants of the Xperia Z3, which is the flagship device of Sony Mobile. As the name implies, this phone is designed to support Dual SIM standby. The model number for Xperia Z3 Dual is D6633. Like other variants of Xperia Z3, it has also been updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop official firmware by Sony. The build number for latest Xperia Z3 Dual is 23.1.1.E.0.1. It is currently the latest available firmware for D6633 based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The D6633 23.1.1.E.0.1 update is available via OTA updates. However, there is generally no ETA for when your region will receive the update. Moreover, those who have rooted their devices or unlocked bootloaders (basically the phone is not stock) will not receive the OTA lollipop update.

Those who have not received the Official Android 5.0.2 23.1.1.E.0.1 firmware update for Xperia Z3 Dual D6633, can use this guide to install 23.1.1.E.0.1 ftf on D6633 manually using flashtool. This is a simple guide which explains the method to install official Sony firmware on Xperia Z3 Dual. Moreover, flashing will wipe root access and take the phone back to stock state. The only thing that will remain unchanged, is the bootloader. If the bootloader is unlocked, then the phone will stay unlocked even after flashing. The 23.1.1.E.0.1 firmware can be flashed on both rooted and non-rooted Xperia Z3 Dual D6633. The steps involved in the flashing are described below. Early Preparations:

4. Enable USB Debugging Mode on your device.

Enable USB debugging mode on your device. To do so, tap settings>developer options>USB debugging. If you can’t find developer options in settings, then tap settings > about device and tap “Build Number” for 7 times and you’ll get em’ activated under settings.

5. Install and setup Sony Flashtool.

You must have installed Sony Flashtool. Find the full guide here.

After installing Sony Flashtool, open the Flashtool folder from the drive where you installed it. Now open Flashtool>Drivers>Flashtool-drivers.exe and install the Flashtool, Fastboot & Xperia Z3 Dual drivers from the list. [Important]

6. Use OEM data cable to establish connection.

Make sure that you use the phone’s original data cable to establish connection between your phone and the PC. Using a different data cable might result in interrupting the firmware installation.

 

Steps to Install 23.1.1.E.0.1 FTF on Xperia Z3 Dual D6633

Before moving forward, please make sure that you’ve read the pre requisites and ensure that you are set to go ahead.

  1. Download the latest firmware Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 23.1.1.E.0.1 FTF file.
    1. D6633 23.1.1.E.0.1 FTF
  2. Copy the file and paste in Flashtool>Firmwares folder.
  3. Open Flashtool.exe now.
  4. Hit the small lightening button on the top left corner and select Flashmode.
  5. Select the FTF firmware file that you placed in the Firmware folder.
  6. From the right side, select what do you want to wipe. Data, cache and apps log, all wipes are recommended, perhaps you may select if you don’t want.
  7. Click on OK, and it will start preparing the firmware for flashing. This may take a little while to load.
  8. As soon as the firmware is loaded, it will prompt you to attach the phone by turning it off and keeping the back key press.
  9. For Z3 Dual Volume Down key will do the job of back key, just turn off your phone, keep the Volume Down key pressed and plug in the data cable.
  10. As soon as the phone is detected in Flashmode, the firmware will start flashing, Do not leave the Volume Down key until the process is complete.
  11. As soon as you see “Flashing ended or Finished Flashing” leave the Volume Down key, plug the cable out and reboot.
  12. That’s All! Congrats! You’ve installed latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on your Xperia Z3 Dual. Enjoy

7. Unlock Bootloader [Optional]

8. Set Up ADB and Fastboot Drivers

Steps For Rooting Z3 Dual D6633 23.1.1.E.0.1 Firmware

1. Downgrade to 23.0.F.1.74 firmware and Root It

  1. If you have not updated your devices from Android 4.4.4 firmware yet then you can skip the downgrading process.
  2. Those who have updated their devices to Android 5.0.2 firmware already, they must follow these steps.
  3. Download 23.0.F.1.74 ftf D6633 and flash it on phone using Flashtool Guide.
  4. Once downgraded, move on to step 5 for rooting it.
  5. Root your device using this root method for .74 Firmware
  6. Now download Dual Recovery Installer for Z3 Dual Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.installer.zip
  7. Unzip and connect the phone with PC and run the installer.
  8. It will install the Dual Recovery on Phone.
  9. Now move on to next step.

2. Make A Pre-Rooted Flashable Firmware For 23.1.1.E.0.1 FTF

  1. Download PRF Creator and install on your system.
  2. Download SuperSU zip and place anywhere on PC.
  3. Download 23.1.1.E.0.1 FTF and place it anywhere on PC.
  4. Download Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.xx-RELEASE.flashable.zip
  5. Now run PRFC and add all three required files in it.
  6. Then click on Create.
  7. Once the Flashable ROM is created, it will show the successful message.
  8. Do not touch any other option while creating the pre-rooted firmware.
  9. Now copy the pre-rooted firmware to the phone’s internal storage.
  10. Our work in this step is now done. Move on to next step.

3. Root and Install Recovery on Z3 Dual 5.0.2 Lollipop Firmware

  1. Custom recovery was installed in the first step.
  2. The pre-rooted firmware was created and copied to phone in next step.
  3. Now you have to turn off phone.
  4. Turn it on again and press volume up or down repeatedly to enter custom recovery.
  5. Click on install and locate the folder where you placed the flashable zip earlier.
  6. Tap on it and install it.
  7. Now reboot the phone.
  8. If phone is still connected to PC via USB cable, disconnect it.
  9. Now go back to the 23.1.1.E.0.1 ftf you downloaded in second step and copy it to /flashtool/fimrwares
  10. Open flashtool and click on lightning icon in the top left.
  11. Click on it and click on flashmode.
  12. Select the 23.1.1.E.0.1 firmware.
  13. In the right bar, in the exclude options, exclude System only while flashing. Leave every other options as it is. (Tick System Only)
  14. While flashtool prepares the software for flashing, turn off your phone.
  15. Keep the volume down button pressed and connect it to PC via USB cable.
  16. The button must be pressed during it.
  17. The phone will enter flashmode.
  18. Flashtool will automatically detect it and start flashing.
  19. After flashing phone will reboot and you will be done 🙂

  1. Copy SuperSu.zip file to your phone’s internal storage.
  2. Open Odin3 V3.10.6.exe that you extracted on your PC.
  3. Put your phone in download mode now. To do so, turn it off completely. Now turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power Key. Once your phone boots up, press the Volume Up key to continue.
  4. Connect your phone to your PC now. The ID:COM box in the top-left corner of Odin3 should  turn blue. This indicates that your phone is connected properly.
  5. Now click the “AP” tab in Odin and select the twrp-2.8.6.0-zerofltespr.img.tar file. It will take a second or two for Odin3 to load this file.

  7. Now you’re all set to flash the recovery. Just click the start button in Odin3 and sit back.
  8. Once the process box above ID:COM box shows green light and flashing process is finished, disconnect your device.
  9. Keep the power key pressed for a while and turn it off.
  10. Now turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power Key. This will boot your device in recovery mode. It should be TWRP recovery that you just installed.
  11. Now in TWRP recovery, select Install > locate the SuperSu.zip file and flash it.
  12. Once flashed, reboot your device.
  13. Checkout the SuperSu in application drawer. Also install BusyBox from Play Store.
  14. Verify root access using Root Checker.
  15. That’s al. You’re now set to unleash the open source nature of Android.

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is one of the first non-Z series Xperia devices to receive the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update. This guide deals in particular with Xperia T2 Ultra Dual with model number D5322. The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for T2 Ultra is 19.3.A.0.470. The new updates was released few days back and it is already available for flashing even for those who have not received the OTA update yet. Those who have updated their Xperia T2 Ultra Dual must have noticed that there is not complete rooting method available for lollipop firmware of T2 Ultra Dual yet. This guide explains every steps that will be required to root Xperia T2 Ultra with a noob-proof guide.

The latest build number for Xperia T2 Ultra Dual is 19.3.A.0.470. There is not easy rooting method available for this device yet. However, this guide makes it pretty easy to follow and each step is explained clearly to help you root D5322 19.3.A.0.470 firmware. Following are the steps that will be used in rooting Xperia T2 Ultra Dual Lollipop firmware.

1. This Guide is Only for Xperia T2 Ultra Dual D5322

This rooting method is only for Xperia T2 Ultra Dual with model number D5322. The phone must be running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware with 19.3.A.0.470 build number. You can confirm the phone model and software’s build number by opening About Phone in Settings menu.

2. Battery should be charged at least over 60%.

Make sure that your battery is charged enough to complete the flashing process. In case your battery is low and your device goes dead during the flashing process, you may end up soft bricking your device as it won’t complete the flashing process.

3. Backup everything!

Just to be on the safe side, you may consider backing up each and everything from your Android device. This is highly recommended so that in case anything goes wrong, you still have the access to all of your data and you can restore it immediately. You may backup everything as listed below.

  • Backup SMS Messages
  • Backup Call Logs
  • Backup Contacts
  • Backup Media – Copy your files manually to your PC or Laptop.
  • Titanium Backup – If already rooted, use Titanium Backup to backup all of your apps, system data and other important content. If you haven’t rooted your device previously, skip this step.
  • Backup Nandroid – If CWM  or TWRP installed previously, otherwise skip this step and perform this at the end of flashing.

4. Enable USB Debugging Mode on your device.

Enable USB debugging mode on your device. To do so, tap settings>developer options>USB debugging. If you can’t find developer options in settings, then tap settings > about device and tap “Build Number” for 7 times and you’ll get em’ activated under settings.

5. Install and setup Sony Flashtool.

You must have installed Sony Flashtool. Find the full guide here.

After installing Sony Flashtool, open the Flashtool folder from the drive where you installed it. Now open Flashtool>Drivers>Flashtool-drivers.exe and install the Flashtool, Fastboot & Xperia T2 Ultra drivers from the list. If you do not find the Flashtool drivers in Flashmode, skip this step and install Sony PC Companion instead, for drivers support. [Important]

6. Use OEM data cable to establish connection.

Make sure that you use the phone’s original data cable to establish connection between your phone and the PC. Using a different data cable might result in interrupting the firmware installation.

7. Unlock Bootloader [Important]

Use the following guide to unlock the bootloader of your Xperia device before proceeding.

8. Set Up ADB and Fastboot Drivers

Download and install ADB and Fastboot drivers on your computer. If you are using Windows, then you should use Windows 7 to use ADB Drivers. ADB Drivers for Mac and Windows are given below.

Steps For Rooting T2 Ultra Dual D5322 19.3.A.0.470 Firmware

1. Downgrade to 19.1.C.0.116 firmware and Root It

  1. If you have not updated your devices from Android 4.4.2 firmware yet then you can skip the downgrading process.
  2. Those who have updated their devices to Android 5.0.2 firmware already, they must follow these steps.
  3. Download 19.1.C.0.116 ftf D5233 and flash it on phone using Flashtool Guide.
  4. Once downgraded, move on to step 5 for rooting it.
  5. Make sure that you have unlocked the bootloader of your device by now.
  6. Download TWRP Kernel For D5233 and place it anywhere on PC. Download V3 of kernel.
  7. Rename the downloaded file to boot.img.
  8. Copy boot.img to Fastboot folder.
  9. Now turn off phone completely.
  10. Connect USB cable to PC Only.
  11. Keep volume up pressed on phone and connect USB to phone.
  12. The phone will enter fastboot mode.
  13. Open Fastboot folder.
  14. Inside it, keep shift button on keyboard pressed and right-click on mouse.
  15. Click on ‘Open Command Window Here’.
  16. Type fastboot devices and press Enter.
  17. Make sure that only one device is listed there.
  18. If you can see more than one device, then disconnect any other device from PC, disable or uninstall if any Android Emulator and also disable or uninstall PC Companion if installed.
  19. Copy boot.img to Fastboot folder.
  20. Again open Command Window and type fastboot flash boot boot.img and press Enter.
  21. Flashing will be done in few seconds.
  22. Type fastboot reboot and press Enter.
  23. The phone will reboot in few seconds.
  24. Download SuperSU zip and copy it to phone’s internal memory.
  25. Turn off phone again and while turning it on, press volume down button repeatedly on Sony Logo to enter recovery mode.
  26. You will see TWRP logo and then you will be presented with a set of options.
  27. Tap on install and locate the folder where downloaded SuperSU is placed.
  28. Tap on it and install/flash it.
  29. It will root the phone automatically.
  30. Now go back to main menu and reboot the phone.
  31. Do not wipe anything at this stage.
  32. Now download Dual Recovery Installer for T2 Ultra (T2U) T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.installer.zip
  33. Unzip and connect the phone with PC and run the installer.
  34. It will install the Dual Recovery on Phone.
  35. Now move on to next step.

2. Make A Pre-Rooted Flashable Firmware For .470 FTF

  1. Download PRF Creator and install on your system.
  2. Download SuperSU zip and place anywhere on PC.
  3. Download .470 FTF and place it anywhere on PC.
  4. Download T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.xx-RELEASE.flashable.zip
  5. Now run PRFC and add all three required files in it.
  6. Then click on Create.
  7. Once the Flashable ROM is created, it will show the successful message.
  8. Do not touch any other option while creating the pre-rooted firmware.
  9. Now copy the pre-rooted firmware to the phone’s internal storage.
  10. Our work in this step is now done. Move on to next step.

3. Root and Install Recovery on T2 Ultra Dual 5.0.2 Lollipop Firmware

  1. Custom recovery was installed in the first step.
  2. The pre-rooted firmware was created and copied to phone in next step.
  3. Now you have to turn off phone.
  4. Turn it on again and press volume up or down repeatedly to enter custom recovery.
  5. Click on install and locate the folder where you placed the flashable zip earlier.
  6. Tap on it and install it.
  7. Now reboot the phone.
  8. If phone is still connected to PC via USB cable, disconnect it.
  9. Now go back to the .470 ftf you downloaded in second step and copy it to /flashtool/fimrwares
  10. Open flashtool and click on lightning icon in the top left.
  11. Click on it and click on flashmode.
  12. Select the .470 firmware.
  13. In the right bar, in the exclude options, exclude System only while flashing. Leave every other options as it is. (Tick System Only)
  14. While flashtool prepares the software for flashing, turn off your phone.
  15. Keep the volume down button pressed and connect it to PC via USB cable.
  16. The button must be pressed during it.
  17. The phone will enter flashmode.
  18. Flashtool will automatically detect it and start flashing.
  19. After flashing phone will reboot and you will be done 🙂

The latest update for Xperia Z3 is 23.1.A.0.726 firmware. It is based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It is a small update over .690 firmware released earlier that was based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop as well. The new update is rolled out in order to fix bugs found in phones after updating them to .690 firmware. Those who have not updated their devices yet, they should update to .726 firmware first using the guide available on our site and then follow this guide to root 23.1.A.0.726 fimrware on D6603 Xperia Z3 and install Philz Touch/TWRP dual recovery on it.

The method explained in this guide can be used to root Xperia Z3 without even unlocking the bootloader. The first steps includes downgrading to a previous firmware which could be rooted without having the need to unlock bootloader. The next steps includes the process of flashing the customised FTF that is pre-rooted. You can make it yourself or a customised that is already available can be used as well. Make sure that you use the phone’s original data cable to establish connection between your phone and the PC. Using a different data cable might result in interrupting the firmware installation.

7. Unlock Bootloader [Optional]

Use the following guide to unlock the bootloader of your Xperia device before proceeding.

Steps For Rooting Xperia Z3 23.1.A.0.726 Firmware

1. Downgrade to 23.0.A.2.93 Firmware and Root It

  1. If you have already updated your smartphone to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, then you have to downgrade your device to KitKat OS and Root it.
  2. Root using this guide.
  3. Now Install XZ Dual Recovery.
  4. Now phone is rooted, USB Debugging must be enabled.
  5. Download latest installer for Xperia Z3 from here. (Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.xx-RELEASE.installer.zip)
  6. Connect phone to PC using OEM date cable and run install.bat.
  7. It will install the custom recovery.
  8. Now work here is done. Lets move on to next step.

2. Make A Pre-Rooted Flashable Firmware For .726 FTF

  1. Download PRF Creator and install on your system.
  2. Download SuperSU zip and place anywhere on PC.
  3. Download .726 FTF and place it anywhere on PC.
  4. Download Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.xx-RELEASE.flashable.zip
  5. Now run PRFC and add all three required files in it.
  6. Then click on Create.
  7. Once the Flashable ROM is created, it will show the successful message.
  8. Do not touch any other option while creating the pre-rooted firmware.
  9. Now copy the pre-rooted firmware to the phone’s internal storage.
  10. Our work in this step is now done. Move on to next step.

Note: If you do not want  to create a pre-rooted flashable zip yourself, then you can download flashable zip for your phone from one of the downlod links given below.

3. Root and Install Recovery on Z3 D6603 5.0.2 Lollipop Firmware

  1. Custom recovery was installed in the first step.
  2. The pre-rooted firmware was created and copied to phone in next step.
  3. Now you have to turn off phone.
  4. Turn it on again and press volume up or down repeatedly to enter custom recovery.
  5. Click on install and locate the folder where you placed the flashable zip earlier.
  6. Tap on it and install it.
  7. Now reboot the phone.
  8. If phone is still connected to PC via USB cable, disconnect it.
  9. Now go back to the .726 ftf you downloaded in second step and copy it to /flashtool/fimrwares
  10. Open flashtool and click on lightning icon in the top left.
  11. Click on it and click on flashmode.
  12. Select the .726 firmware.
  13. In the right bar, in the exclude options, exclude System only while flashing. Leave every other options as it is.
  14. While flashtool prepares the software for flashing, turn off your phone.
  15. Keep the volume down button pressed and connect it to PC via USB cable.
  16. The button must be pressed during it.
  17. The phone will enter flashmode.
  18. Flashtool will automatically detect it and start flashing.
  19. After flashing phone will reboot and you will be done 🙂

  21. Now your phone has a dual custom recovery, root access and of course latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Firmware.

Update Xperia T2 Ultra D5303/D5322 To Official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 19.3.A.0.470 Firmware

Xperia T2 Ultra has started receiving the long-awaited Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update today. With this update, it looks like Sony wants to be done with updating all of its mainstream devices to the latest firmware as soon as possible and the Android 5.0 Lollipop Squad is coming to an end now. The new update brings a lot of changes on the Xperia T2 Ultra. The very first change atop of the list is the new UI, which Sony changed according to Google’s new Material Design UI. There are new multi-user and guest modes on the device now and new intelligent notifications on the lock screen. The new update carries the build number 19.3.A.0.470 and as mentioned, it is based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

At the time of writing this post, only single SIM variant of the Xperia T2 Ultra is receiving this update, but we hope that the dual SIM variant’s update will follow it very soon now as well. This update has hit only few regions for now, and it sure will take quite a while to hit your region if you don’t happen to be that much lucky yet. You may want to find a different way to update your device for now, and that is what we are going to do in the on-going guide. As you move forward, you will come across a comprehensive guide that will help you to update your Xperia T2 Ultra D5303 to official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 19.3.A.0.470 firmware. As soon as this update arrives for D5322, the same guide will help you to update your device. Let’s go through the guide now and get it done.

Early Preparations:

1. This is only for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra D5303/D5322

This ROM is only for the device mentioned above. Make sure that your model number matches the one listed above. To do so, go to Settings > About Device on your device and see your model number. Flashing this firmware on any other device will result in bricking it so make sure that you meet this requirement first of all.

2. Battery should be charged at least over 60%.

Make sure that your battery is charged enough to complete the flashing process. In case your battery is low and your device goes dead during the flashing process, you may end up soft bricking your device as it won’t complete the flashing process.

3. Backup everything!

Just to be on the safe side, you may consider backing up each and everything from your Android device. This is highly recommended so that in case anything goes wrong, you still have the access to all of your data and you can restore it immediately. You may backup everything as listed below.

  • Backup SMS Messages
  • Backup Call Logs
  • Backup Contacts
  • Backup Media – Copy your files manually to your PC or Laptop.
  • Titanium Backup – If already rooted, use Titanium Backup to backup all of your apps, system data and other important content. If you haven’t rooted your device previously, skip this step.
  • Backup Nandroid – If CWM  or TWRP installed previously, otherwise skip this step and perform this at the end of flashing.

4. Enable USB Debugging Mode on your device.

Enable USB debugging mode on your device. To do so, tap settings>developer options>USB debugging. If you can’t find developer options in settings, then tap settings > about device and tap “Build Number” for 7 times and you’ll get em’ activated under settings.

5. Install and setup Sony Flashtool.

You must have installed Sony Flashtool. Find the full guide here.

After installing Sony Flashtool, open the Flashtool folder from the drive where you installed it. Now open Flashtool>Drivers>Flashtool-drivers.exe and install the Flashtool, Fastboot & Xperia T2 Ultra drivers from the list. [Important]

6. Use OEM data cable to establish connection.

Make sure that you use the phone’s original data cable to establish connection between your phone and the PC. Using a different data cable might result in interrupting the firmware installation.

How To Update Sony Xperia T2 Ultra D5303/D5322  To Official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 19.3.A.0.470

Before moving forward, please make sure that you’ve read the pre requisites and ensure that you are set to go ahead.

  1. Download the latest firmware Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 19.3.A.0.470 FTF file.
    1. For Xperia T2 Ultra D5303/D5322 [Generic/Unbranded. Create your own FTF using this guide.
  2. Copy the file and paste in Flashtool>Firmwares folder.
  3. Open Flashtool.exe now.
  4. Hit the small lightening button on the top left corner and select Flashmode.
  5. Select the FTF firmware file that you placed in the Firmware folder.
  6. From the right side, select what do you want to wipe. Data, cache and apps log, all wipes are recommended, perhaps you may select if you don’t want.
  7. Click on OK, and it will start preparing the firmware for flashing. This may take a little while to load.
  8. As soon as the firmware is loaded, it will prompt you to attach the phone by turning it off and keeping the back key press.
  9. For Xperia T2 Ultra Volume Down key will do the job of back key, just turn off your phone, keep the Volume Down key pressed and plug in the data cable.
  10. As soon as the phone is detected in Flashmode, the firmware will start flashing, Do not leave the Volume Down key until the process is complete.
  11. As soon as you see “Flashing ended or Finished Flashing” leave the Volume Down key, plug the cable out and reboot.
  12. That’s All! Congrats! You’ve installed latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on your Xperia T2 Ultra. Enjoy

Did you just get a shock after reading the title? Well, the story seems quite interesting. Samsung recently started launching the Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge in different countries and for a better promotion, Samsung had hold some exclusive events. One such event happened in Lahore, Pakistan where some actors and actresses were invited to add a little charm to the S6 launch event. It looks like Samsung’s plans failed. As soon as the pictures of the launch event came up, some actors are caught taking Selfies using their iPhone 6 infront of the S6 posters. The best we can do right now is to suggest Samsung to either hire a better team to promote their products or at the least avoid posting iPhone 6 pictures atop of their very own phone’s posters.

We aren’t yet sure about how and why did this happen, only Samsung Pakistan can better answer this. We suspect that its a very clever move mad by Apple to promote their iPhone 6 making the best of the Galaxy S6 event (Never mind).
