LG will be unveiling their next flagship, the LG G6 at the MWC 2017 which is taking place in Barcelona next month. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the platform where all the big brands of the industry showcase their premium smartphones for the year. This year will be no different with LG, Samsung and Huawei taking the spotlight to unveil their latest offerings. LG is expected to announce the LG G6, their flagship for 2017 at the event.
As per tradition, companies unveil the smartphone ahead of their release dates. LG this time around will be shipping their smartphones on 10th March in the markets. Usually companies take about 1 month to launch their products in the market and last year, the LG G5 came out on 30th March. This year around LG has strategically pushed the release date ahead of their schedule to leverage the delayed release date of Samsung Galaxy S8. The company wants users to have an option with their device. Usually Samsung starts shipping their devices out in March-April but after the Note 7 disaster they have delayed the release date to April, spending time in quality assurance and testing.
LG wants to take advantage of the time frame at hand and push sales in their favor. This may work in their favor especially in the Korean market, where school year would be starting and that’s one of the optimal times for driving sales. According to rumors LG G6 will have 5.3 inch 1440 x 2560 p display and it will be equipped with Snapdragon 830 chipset along with a 6GB RAM AND A 32 GB internal storage.
