Samsung Galaxy S8 is the fodder for rumor mills and everyday we get updated on the specs, features and design details. To date we have seen different renders, alleged live images and specs of the device. Well information regarding the RAM configuration for Galaxy S8 have been quite confusing, as 4GB , 6GB and even 8GB RAM specs have been talked about in the last few weeks. According the new information, Galaxy S8 will have a 6GB variant but only for the Chinese market.
This information comes to us by @mmdj_china, claiming that the Chinese variants of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have 6GB RAM and 64GB of native memory. The information about Galaxy S8 having a 6GB RAM variant is not new, two weeks ago a report pointed out that there will be a 6GB RAM variant but only for the Asian market and today’s information reinforces the fact. In addition, last week a rear panel for the alleged Galaxy S8 leaked in which along with the logo the number 6 was highlighted in a small box which upon close scrutiny indicated that a 6GB RAM variant was in works.
Well a lot of Sammy fans would be bemoaning the fact as to why only the Chinese market will get Galaxy S8 devices which will have a 6GB RAM variants, why not push this update across flagship. The major issue is that China is a very competitive smartphone market in which local smartphone manufacturers like One Plus and Xiaomi have already launched flagships with a 6GB RAM. If Samsung launches Galaxy S8 with a 4GB RAM as it will be doing in the rest of the markets then they aren’t setting themselves apart from the rest of the smartphones available. Along with that Samsung later this year will be announcing Galaxy Note 8, and 6GB RAM configuration will be presented there. With 2 flagships a year, the company needs to look at how to balance out specs for both.
As far as the launch dates go, it is expected that Galaxy S8 will go on sale in China in the 15th week, which makes it the third week of April. In USA, the smartphone will arrive on the market shelves on 14th April.
Samsung will be showing the promo for Galaxy S8 and also announce the official unveiling dates for the device. It’s rumored that 29th March will be the day of reckoning but you never know how things may end up changing.
