Since it is the most widely used custom ROM, and also happens to be the pioneer of Android custom ROMs, user’s and developers have always remained inclined towards this ROM. CyanogenMod 13 is now available for quite many legacy devices which have been forgotten by their manufacturers in terms of Software updates. The Galaxy S2’s software updates stopped at Android Jelly Bean due to its hardware limitations. Users who still own this device and are also willing to update to the latest and greatest version of Android, they can now do so by means of this CM 13 custom ROM.

If you own a Galaxy S2, it may be the time for you to pull it out of your drawer and wipe off the dust in order to give it a whole new life. You will have to go through Data Wipes during installation of this ROM, so make sure that you have backed up all the mentioned data.
Make an EFS backup of your phone before you flash this ROM.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow CM 13.0 Custom ROM

Download CWM 6.0.4.9.zip file [KitKat Compatible to flash Marshmallow.]
Download latest cm-13.0-xxxxxx-NIGHTLY/Stable-i9100.zip ROM .zip file.
Download Google Gapps.zip file.
Connect your phone to your PC now.
Copy all the three .zip files to the storage of your phone.
Now disconnect your phone and turn it off complete.
Boot into CWM recovery [that you installed using the link in early preparations] now, in order to do so, turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key. You should see the recovery mode in a while.
Now select “Install > Choose Zip from SD card > Select CWM 6.0.4.9.zip file > Yes”. [v.important]
This will flash KitKat comaptible CWM recovery in your Galaxy S2.
Once flashed, reboot your device again into the recovery mode [use step 7].
Now in CWM recovery, wipe cache, factory data reset and advanced options > dalvik cache.
After wiping all these three, select “Install” option.
Now select “Install > Choose Zip from SD card > Select CM 13.0 ROM.zip file > Yes”.
This will flash the ROM in your phone.
Once again in CWM select “Install > Choose zip from SD card > Gapps.zip file > Yes”.
This will flash Gapps in your phone.
Reboot your device.
You should see the CyanogenMod 13.0 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow running on your device in a while.

First boot may take up to 10 minutes, you may not worry if it’s taking that much long. Method#1

Download latest CyanogenMod 13.zip file according to your device
1. CyanogenMod 13 Android 6.0.1.zip file
Download Gapps.zip [arm, 6.0.zip] file for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Connect your phone to your PC now.
Copy all .zip files to the storage of your phone.
Now disconnect your phone and turn it off complete.
Boot into CWM recovery. To do so, turn off your device, now turn it on and quickly press volume up and down keys, you will get the CWM interface.
In CWM wipe factory data.
Now select “Install Zip>Choose Zip from Sd card / external Sd card”.
Select the ROM.zip file that your placed on your phone’s Sd card. Select “Yes” now in order to flash it.
This will flash the ROM in your phone, once done get back to the main menu in recovery.
Now once again select “Install Zip >Choose Zip from Sd card / external Sd card > Select Gapps.zip file > Yes”
This will flash the Gapps in your phone.
Wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery now.
Reboot your device.
You should see the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow CyanogenMod 13.0 running on your device in a while.
That’s all!

Method#2

Download CyanogenMod 13 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow ROM .zip file.
Download Google Gapps.zip file for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. [ARM, 6.0]
Extract the ROM.zip file on your PC you will get a boot.img file.
Download Android ADB and Fastboot drivers, follow our full guide here to make it easy.
Now place the kernal file that is boot.img file that you extracted from the zip folder in the fastboot folder that you downloaded form the guide linked above.
After placing the kernel file in the fastboot folder, open the fastboot folder. Press shift and then Right click on any empty area inside the folder, now select “Open command prompt here“. flash it using the command “Fastboot flash boot boot.img”. In case you are confused, follow the Android ADB & Fastboot drivers guide carefully.
Now, Place the ROM.zip file and Gapps.zip file on your phone’s internal or external sd card.
Boot into CWM recovery. To do so, turn off your device, now turn it on and quickly press volume up and down keys, you will get the CWM interface.
In CWM wipe the cache and dalvik cache.
Now select “Install Zip>Choose Zip from Sd card / external Sd card”.
Select the ROM.zip file that your placed on your phone’s Sd card.
It should take a few mins to flash the ROM, now once again select “Install Zip>Choose Zip from Sd card / external Sd card”.
Choose the Gapps.zip file this time and flash it.
As soon as done flashing, clear cache and dalvik cache again.
Reboot system now, you should see the CM logo on the boot screen now, it may take upto 10 minutes in order to boot into home screen.
Congrats! Enjoy unofficial Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow custom ROM on your Sony Xperia M now.

Google while on the other hand has already dominated the Embedded OS market with their Android OS, now they are looking to take their share in the Hybrid laptop market too. Google Pixel C is, well basically a tablet that can be attached to a dedicated keyboard and thus can be used a laptop. With 10.2-inches screen size and totally touch-screen, you’ll be able use almost every app and play every game on it. With 3GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of data storage, you can store a lot of stuff in it and it also features an 8MP primary camera. Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, that means there will be some custom Mods and tweaks for it and for that you’ll need to root it.

Right click “Computer or This PC > Click on Manage > Device Manager > Find your device i.e. Nexus 5 or Nexus 6 > Right click Update driver > Browse My Computer For Driver Software > Locate and select the Google USB folder that you got after unzipping > select install now”.
Once the installation has been completed, your device will be shown as Android Composite ADB Interface.
Download and install Minimal Android ADB & Fastboot drivers on your computer.

How To Flash Custom Recovery:

Download the Recovery Image
Rename it to recovery and paste it in the Fastboot folder, created in adb and fastboot guide
Turn Off your Device
Now go to Bootloader/Fastboot mode, Press and hold Power + Volume Down Buttons till you see some text on-screen
Now Open Command prompt in Fastboot Folder. How? Hold Shift Key and Right Click anywhere in the Fastboot folder.
Connect your Device with PC.
Now Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img to flash the TWRP Recovery on your device
Type fastboot reboot, to reboot your device
After a proper reboot, your device will be running TWRP Recovery

How To Root Your Device:

Download the Kernel Image
Paste it in the Fastboot folder, created in adb and fastboot guide.
Turn Off your Device
Now go to Bootloader/Fastboot mode, Press and hold Power + Volume Down Buttons till you see some text on-screen
Now Open Command prompt in Fastboot Folder. How? Hold Shift Key and Right Click anywhere in the Fastboot folder.
Connect your Device with PC.
Now Type fastboot flash boot xceed-kernel-google-dragon-v1-RC4.img.img.
Reboot the device, once done, boot back in TWRP
In TWRP mount/data and copy the su.img into /data and Unmount/data
Reboot to Android and Install Superuserapk
Enjoy!

After a Successful reboot, Look for Super SU app in your drawer or use any Root checker app to confirm root access.
