OnePlus is not through with the OnePlus 5T just yet. After announcing the first phone from the manufacturer to sport an 18:9 aspect ratio but in a rather ‘boring’ color version, a Lava Red model might be just what you guys could be looking for.

OnePlus 5T gets a new Lava Red model

To be fair, it looks like OnePlus is following the same footsteps as Apple once more. After being criticized for releasing the OnePlus 5, which looked strikingly similar to the iPhone 7 Plus from the back side, the OnePlus 5T has been released in the Lava Red version.

A while back Apple announced its (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models and while this was being done for a noble cause, it is possible that the OnePlus 5T is an imitation of the iPhone 7 Plus and now features an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The phone itself does not differ from the regular colored model from a hardware outlook. You get the same Snapdragon 835 with either 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage or 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard memory. The phone will continue to provide support for Dash Charge, but there is no support for wireless charging available.

The OnePlus 5T Lava Red uses an Optic AMOLED display and features outstanding build quality for something that is priced at just $499.

The dual-camera is the same 16+20MP pairing but this time, there is no telephoto lens in sight like there was on the OnePlus 5. Instead, the OnePlus 5T will be relying on digital zoom, which will decrease the overall image quality, but the Portrait Mode feature will still be retained on the smartphone.

The price of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red will remain the same, at $499 so if you’re bored with seeing the same dull old colors, we suggest that you grab this one instead.
