The iPhone X clones have started to come forward, with the first one being the Leagoo S9. The majority of readers might not be familiar with Leagoo, but it is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has started to make phones with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
So does Leagoo S9 came with enough effort to become the closest iPhone X clone there is? Well, the notch at the top sure speaks a lot and so are the icons on the right-hand side of the display. Obviously, the Leagoo S9 will not be packing things like the TrueDepth camera and Face ID so we figure the company might have done this in order to mimic the design of the iPhone X.
It sure looks like the Leagoo S9 sports an 18:9 display, but the display itself is most probably going to be an LCD rather than an OLED that is present on the iPhone X. LCD screens are much cheaper than OLED panels and the Leagoo S9 could be priced at a lower volume so customers can show off that they have an iPhone X in their pockets.
Even the back side features a camera setup that is identical to the iPhone X but because the Leagoo S9 does not feature Face ID and because it cannot accommodate a fingerprint reader at the front thanks to such thin bezels, you will need to unlock the phone using the rear-etched fingerprint reader.
This is definitely a dead giveaway that the Leagoo S9 is an iPhone X clone, but it definitely comes close to fooling lots of people that the device is going to be that expensive phone from Apple. If you’re a technology enthusiast then after carefully examining the smartphone you will be able to tell that this is nothing more than an iPhone copy but you have to give Leagoo credit for producing a clone that comes very darn close to Apple’s flagship.
