When you install Freedom OS on your OnePlus 5, its base is an untouched and unmodified stock Oxygen OS ROM. The AROMA installer then puts up the installation page with all the features and tweaks that you want in the ROM. You can root this ROM either with the SuperSU or Magisk root. Adaway is there in the ROM to get rid of all unwanted flashes and pop-ups. To enhance the sound, the developer has made the use of ARISE sound MOD. Google Assistant is inbuilt. You will find Sony’s Music Player as your music handler. When it comes to bloatware and Google Apps, users can select their favorite system and Google Apps to install. Preparation
- This ROM is only for the OnePlus 5. Do not try this on any other phone.
- Charge your phone good enough so that it lasts during the installation process.
- Backup your important contacts, call logs and text messages. Also, create a Nandroid and EFS backup. This is highly recommended because we will be factory resetting the phone during the flashing process.
- InstallTWRP Recovery on your OnePlus 5.

Install Freedom OS Custom ROM on OnePlus 5
- Download FreedomOS-op5-nevax-1.5.1-signed.zip file. Copy the downloaded ROM file to your phone’s internal or external storage.
- Boot your OnePlus 5 into TWRP recovery. To do so, power down your OnePlus 5. Now turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Power Key. As soon as the phone boots up, leave the keys and let it boot into TWRP.
- Once you are in the TWRP recovery, tap Wipe > Factory reset your OnePlus 5.
- Now get back to the main menu in TWRP recovery and tap Install > Locate and select FreedomOS-op5-nevax-1.5.1-signed.zip > Swipe finger to start the installation.
- As soon as ROM installation begins, it will bring up AROMA installer. Choose all the features that you want in the ROM. Proceed with the on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
- Once done, reboot your phone into the system.
- First boot can take up to 10 minutes. Let the phone prepare the new system. You will have the new Freedom OS ROM up and running on your phone now. That’s all.
