When Samsung released the Galaxy Note 4 back in 2014, it released a very unique device alongside the Note 4. We saw a device having a very beautiful edge going towards the right and this device was named as the Galaxy Note Edge. Back in the day, no one had an idea what Samsung wants to achieve by releasing such a device. However, the same thing has become a trend now and all of the flagships coming out by Samsung have an edge screen. The Galaxy Note Edge was one incredible device. This phone had its hardware specifications as same as that of the original Galaxy Note 4. The Note Edge beats the Galaxy Note 4 when it comes to the outer beauty.Install Android 8.1 Oreo on Galaxy Note Edge

The Galaxy Note Edge has a 5.6-inch with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU fueled this device. A RAM of 3GB was placed inside and the internal storage started at 32GB. At the back, this phone has a 13MP camera. On the front, it has a 3.7MP camera. The Galaxy Note Edge also had the iconic S-Pen. The device has a 3,000 mAh battery. Galaxy Note Edge ran on Android KitKat out of the box. The software updates for the Galaxy Note Edge lasted with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Since the Android Marshmallow release, Samsung hasn’t updated this device. It means that Samsung will never update this device either. The Galaxy Note Edge is still in use by the masses. The device is great for many reasons. I personally love this device because of its fabulous camera. To be honest, this phone deserves an upgrade. Now that we know Samsung will not provide an official update, our only way to update this device is by means of a custom ROM. Luckily, we have a stable custom ROM based on Android 8.1 Oreo for the Galaxy Note Edge. We are talking about LineageOS 15.1.

The LineageOS 15.1, formerly known as CyanogenMod, is the most popular custom ROM. LineageOS 15.1 is available for a lot of devices now. Galaxy Note Edge also happens to be one of the lucky devices to get a stable build of LineageOS 15.1. The LineageOS 15.1 is an AOSP based Vanilla Android ROM. There are no extra or additional features in this ROM that we would discuss. The ROM is loved by the ones who don’t like bloatware. The Superfast, bloatware-free LineageOS 15.1 will now let you enjoy the Android 8.1 Oreo on your Galaxy Note Edge.
