Before the arrival of smartphones, Palm was a name that almost everyone was familiar with. After saw the phones like iPhone and then smartphones by companies like Samsung and LG, Palm was nowhere to be found. It looks like the company has now decided to come back into the smartphone business, but not with a bang.
About a month ago, the news about an Android smartphone by Palm Venture Group came in. The device made it to the Wi-Fi Alliance showing Android 8.1 Oreo as its OS. Palm phone has already been through the FCCÂ certification. The phone also made an appearance in an image later on. Now, another press render of the new Android phone by Palm has landed in, courtesy of Android Headlines.
Palm is not going with a top-notch smartphone here. The leaked phone will be quite small. The phone’s rumored specifications are a 3.3-inch screen having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The leaked picture shows the phone to have a single rear camera accompanied by an LED Shooter. A front camera can be seen right next to the call speaker of the phone. The picture also shows the phone’s power key on the right side accompanied by its SIM tray.
The Palm Android Phone will not have any of the flashy features that we have seen on the latest Android phones by various manufacturers. There is going to be no physical keyboard. No fingerprint scanner can be seen anywhere on the phone. Palm is intending to sell the phone by marketing its compact size.
That’s all we know at the moment. Only time will tell how Palm’s experiment goes with this kind of low-end smartphone in 2018 when the dual rear cameras, fingerprint scanners, and edge-to-edge displays have become a norm.
