The notch trend initiated by Apple impressed the Android manufacturers so much that they decided to not to make a single phone without a notch. Huawei was one of the very early adopters of the infamous notch. Huawei’s P20 lineup, the upcoming Mate 20 lineup, and some of the Honor devices have a notch. Even the companies like LG, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and Asus are also using the notch. Google’s upcoming phone will also have a notch. It is only Samsung that’s not opting for the notch culture, and to be honest, it seems like a good decision.
So, after the smartphone manufacturers are done exhausting the notch trend, it looks like they now want to step back. Oppo recently launched its F9 with a tiny notch. Huawei is also going to trim down the notch size on its upcoming Honor 8X. The Honor 8X will come with a tiny notch in the center housing the front camera. Essential and Sharp were one of the very first smartphone makers to use a tiny notch on their phones. Phones with notches have been receiving a mixed response. A tiny notch, in fact, looks more suitable on the phones and it can be applied for good.
The Honor 8X appeared on TENAA today. The phone has the model number ARE-AL00. Rumors have it that the phone will be the Honor 8X or the Honor 8S most probably. The spec-sheet of the phone isn’t out yet. The Honor 8X or 8S will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 636 or it may utilize the latest Huawei Kirin SoC for mid-range smartphones.
