The Nextbit Robin had an ‘all plastic build, making it one of the most fragile phones when it slipped in your pocket. After Razer acquired the phone startup, it pursued to make its own flagship, now called the Razer Phone. With an ‘all metal’ design, the Razer Phone is as premium as they come, but is it a durable phone? Well to answer that question, YouTuber JerryRigEverything got his hands on the latest Razer Phone and decided to perform a durability test on it.
The phone’s all metal shell gives it additional weight but keeps the insides together properly, which is something that you want if you’re going to be forking away $700 on a flagship phone. The two speakers are covered by layers of plastic which are held very strongly so unless you’re going to be peeling it by force there is absolutely no way that you will be able to remove it.

All parts of the phone is metal, including the fingerprint reader and the physical buttons. Though the fingerprint can be scratched, it is still able to register your fingerprint and unlock the home screen without making a fuss. When the display of the smartphone was burned, the burnt area was recovered because the Razer Phone uses an IPS panel and not OLED technology.
For the bend test, the Razer Phone was less durable than the Galaxy S8 and there was also a small crack where the physical button is but nothing was too catastrophic. The short part is that unless there is a huge amount of force acting upon trying to snap the phone in half, there is no way that you’re even going to be making a dent in it.
That is why it costs $700.
