How To Add A Custom Wallpaper To S-View On Galaxy S5, Note 3 & Note 4

Samsung introduced this S-View sensor in the Galaxy S4 and brought a new concept to life. The S-View in the Galaxy S4 was very basic and wasn’t too good initially, but Samsung’s later devices, including the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4 received a much better version of the S-View with a lot of options to customize that little screen showing the notifications, battery status, weather updates, pedometer, and allowing the users to pick up the calls straight from the small window of their S-View cover.

The S-View screen has some wallpapers in different colors, you may pick up one to set on your device if you’re using an S-View cover, but what if you want to set a custom wallpaper in the S-View screen? You will probably end up failing to do so as Samsung hasn’t given this option in the settings of S-View cover, in shot, Samsung has locked this option. You must be bored of those limited colors and wallpapers on your S-View screen and wanting to get rid of now. Keeping this need of the Galaxy device owners in view, our friend Dr Ketan has developed a little application that enables a custom wallpaper option for S-View cover in Galaxy S5, Note 3 and Note 4. The application doesn’t require root access. All you need is, you need to follow the instructions listed below carefully and you will be able to set a custom wallpaper in the S-View screen right away. Let’s go ahead and learn how you can do so.Screenshot_2015-01-31-18-16-50

How To Boost Sound On Your Galaxy Note 4 [Surround Sound MOD]

4
How To Boost Sound On Your Galaxy Note 4 [Surround Sound MOD]

Galaxy Note 4 has its speaker at the back. If you’ve played some music on your device and you’re going to put it down on a bed or a table, it may result in lowering down the volume and you may hate your device for having the speaker at the back. Samsung placed a speaker at bottom on Galaxy Note 3, but the same didn’t happen with the Galaxy Note 4. Some users just like to have a louder volume coming out of their device. One can’t go above the volume limit and produce louder sound on a Galaxy Note 4, but this is actually possible by means of some MOD or tweak. Keeping this rear speaker thing in mind, XDA senior member sshafranko came up with his very own Sound MOD named as Surround Sound MOD for our beloved Galaxy Note 4.

Surround Sound MOD activates the front earpiece speaker in conjunction with the rear speaker and creates a surround sound effect. It increases the Sound of the device and makes it much more audible. If you’re looking for a way to boost volume on your Galaxy Note 4, you may want to flash this MOD right away. Wondering how you can do so? Well, that’s what we are about to do. Let’s go ahead and learn how you can boot sound on your Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C, N910F, N910T or N910G.

1) Stock volume values approximately 84 with activated surround sound type effect.
2) Very Loud volume values approximately 90 with activated surround sound type effect.

  2. Make sure that your device’s battery is charged at least over 60%. This is important to avoid any power issues during the flashing process.
  3. Your device must have a custom recovery installed. Follow these guides to install it on your device.

Boost Sound On Your Galaxy Note Edge N915G/P/T [Surround Sound MOD]

0
Boost Sound On Your Galaxy Note Edge N915G/P/T [Surround Sound MOD]

Galaxy Note Edge is one of the unique Android devices you may find around. If you’re planning to get your hands on this device, it’s going to be a great deal and if you’ve already got it, you must be proud of it. The high specifications joining an amazing display are pretty cool. Samsung has successfully sold over 600K Galaxy Note Edge units and that makes us believe that the device is caught up by a number of Android power users as well. Samsung’s Galaxy devices have been packing up great specifications and features, but the what the users may not like in the Galaxy devices is not seeing any improvement in the sound department, and Galaxy Note Edge one of the devices with no improvements in the sound department.

While manufacturers have been busy introducing new type of speakers, new sound technologies in their smartphones, Samsung isn’t improving the sound specifications of their devices. At first, it’s the sound of speakers, that is not too high enough, and then it is the location of speakers on devices, that is usually at the back and when you’re going to place your phone on the bed or on your table while having the music played, the sound is going to get caged and you may not be able to listen anything, in this case you will have to place your in the opposite direction and that won’t let you keep a track of what’s going on, on your phone’s screen. Some work around is required in this case to boost the speaker sound of your Galaxy Note Edge its speaker is at the back. Samsung placed Galaxy Note 3’s speaker on the bottom, but the placed it at the back in Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. If you’re having sound issues on your Galaxy Note Edge, you can tweak your device and activate the front speaker for sound. This way, you will be able to listen the sound coming out of your front call speaker + the rear speaker, and the sound will be boosted up by a very good percentage, it will be pretty high and audible as well. This work around for the Galaxy Note Edge and some other devices has been done by XDA senior member  sshafranko.Screenshot_7

The MOD is named as Surround Sound. As mentioned earlier, this MOD activates the front earpiece speaker besides the rear speaker of your Galaxy Note Edge, and it will create a surround sound like effect. The MOD is used for Music Player sound, Videos, Movies, Youtube and other applications with sound activities. Here’s what this MOD exactly does.

1) Stock volume values approximately 84 with activated surround sound type effect.
2) Very Loud volume values approximately 90 with activated surround sound type effect.
3) Revert back to stock sound volume values and stock speaker functions and effect.

Here some early preparations that you need to take care of

Install Custom Android 5.0.2 Lollipop On Galaxy Grand 2 G7102

25
Install Custom Android 5.0.2 Lollipop On Galaxy Grand 2 G7102

Galaxy Grand 2 is a great improvement over its predecessor, the very first Galaxy Grand device. The device sports a beautiful 5.25 inch display with 280 ppi. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 Quad Core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz accompanied by Adreno 305 GPU is powering up this device. On the front we have a 1.9 MP shooter and an 8 MP shooter is there at the back. Out of the box, the device ran on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but received Android 4.4.2 KitKat update later on as well. At the moment, we are not sure whether the Galaxy Grand 2 will qualify for receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update or not, and there hasn’t been a hint by Samsung regarding the Lollipop update for this device. While the latest Android firmware is on the roll for so many flagship devices of different manufacturers including Samsung as well, Galaxy Grand 2 users would definitely want to get a lollipop for their device as well and checkout what’s new in this firmware. While they can’t do this officially, an alternative is required and in this case, it’s possible using a custom ROM.

For the Galaxy Grand 2 SM-G7102, this job has been done by XDA senior member mukulsoni, who managed to compile up a stable version of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop based on the all time famous CyanogenMod 12 custom ROM unofficially. The ROM has been through a number of builds, and the current build is pretty good to go with, however, there still are chances of so many bugs and we do not recommend this ROM as a daily dose. Almost everything is working in this ROM, except for the second SIM’s incoming voice. We expect the next update to fix that issue as well. If you are willing to go ahead with the installation of this ROM, you may follow us and install the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop CyanogenMod 12 Custom ROM on your Galaxy Grand 2 SM-G7102. Let’s go through early preps and flash it right away.

Despite that most people don’t like Apple because of their restrictions an security, however, there are alot of reasons to like Apple too, especially if you are just a typical users and wants to use the device in its basic way, then Apple iDevice is one of the best thing to own, but if you are into customization and looking for different apps and being an open source, then you should keep yourself away from Apple devices. One of the best thing I loved in Apple is the power of Back-up it provides, one can easily amend his device after creating a back-up and the best part it back-ups everything and restore it like your device was before, even the saved games will be restored like they were before.

Apple allows you to create back-up via Tow methods, one via iTunes and the other one is via iCloud. Odin 3.10.6 is compatible with all Samsung phones released in 2016 and prior. If your device is not working with Odin 3.13.1, use Odin 3.10.6.

As a Samsung user, you must be well aware of Odin3, Samsung’s very own flash tool. In case you don’t know much about it, you may want to know that Odin3 is Samsung’s little flash tool that is intended for loading stock firmware or other system files e.g. Modem, CSC features Bootloader or PIT files on a Samsung Galaxy device. The tool is pretty much handy. If your device gets stuck in a bootloop, gets soft bricked, or encounters a firmware upgrade issue, Odin3 can be a life savior.

Why do you need Odin?

At times, Samsung Kies fails as well and it doesn’t let you recover your soft-bricked Galaxy device, as it may result in connection errors. All you need to do is, you need to acquire the firmware.tar.md5 or firmware.tar file of for your device and flash it using Odin3.

Odin3 also helps the users to load custom recoveries on their phones, and Chainfire’s famous CF-Autoroot is also flashed using Odin3 in order to root a Samsung Galaxy device. Other options like PIT, Bootloader, Modem, & CSC are required in specific cases. Most of the times, the only option used is the PDA or AP tab that allows the users to load all the .tar, .md5, .smd, .gz. ,tgz files and then allows flashing.

Odin3 v3.10.6

Until now, the latest official version of Odin3 was Odin3 v.3.09 that came up with support for some new devices that weren’t supported by previous versions of Odin3. Recently, a new version of Odin3 has been floating over the web, on different forums and websites, which appears to be Odin3 v3.10.6. The new version has a new UI and according to different sources, it is said to be much more stable and better in terms of performance.

While we are not sure yet whether this Odin 3.10.6 is official and we haven’t found any way to confirm it, we still went ahead and gave a try using Odin3 v3.10.6 and it worked perfectly great. We tried using PIT file option, Modem (CP) and AP options. As we’ve been providing our users a plethora of guides that require the use of Odin3, we’ll be using Odin3 3.10.6 in our guides and you will need it, so we’ve embedded the download link here. Go ahead, grab it and follow instructions below to use Odin3 3.10.6.
