  1. I have this issue, at times I can’t make or receive any calls.

When I dial there is just silence for about 30 seconds and then the call fails.
Received calls go directly to voice mail.

Browser access and apps work fine, internet service is available, this is strictly about phone calls. This happened with AT&T and T-mobile (recently switched).

The only thing that temporarily fixes this is restarting the phone.

I tried WiFi calling and that doesn’t help. WiFi calling works, for a while, then the same issue – silence when calling, received go to voice mail. Restart the phone, exact same location, then all works again, for a day or 2.

This is a huge fail for Google.

Phone calling is basic and either the hardware (Pixel 2 XL) or OS (Android 8.1) is preventing calls. I have done several resets, had a new SIM card, contacted both T-Mobile (very helpful) and Google (not so helpful).

The last thing I suspected from a “flagship” phone was the inability to make or receive phone calls.
