Redmi Note 3 users can now update their phone to Android Pie with the help of this custom ROM. The best part is that most of the features are working flawlessly in this ROM. The Pixel Experience AOSP Android Pie ROM is good enough to keep as your daily driver. The ROM works on both the Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 3 Pro.

What is working and what is not working in this ROM?

As far as the working features of this ROM are concerned, almost everything is up and running fine. The WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity are completely fine. The call making and messaging capability of your Redmi Note 3 will work as well. Mobile Data is fine too. Camera, flashlight, Camcorder, and FM Radio are also intact. The fingerprint scanner works up to the mark. The VoLTE is also working on one SIM. There are only two things that are broken at the moment. Preparations to install Redmi Note 3 Android Pie Pixel Experience ROM

  1. This ROM is only for Redmi Note 3 and Note 3 Pro.
  2. To install the ROM, charge your phone up to 50%.
  3. Your phone’s bootloader must be unlocked.
  4. Download TWRP Recovery for Redmi Note 3 and install it using this guide.
  5. Take a complete backup of all the partitions of the phone via TWRP recovery.
  6. Backup your important contacts, call logs and SMS messages as well.
  7. Follow the remaining steps carefully.

Install Android Pie on Redmi Note 3

  1. Power down your Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
  2. Now boot the Redmi Note 3 in TWRP recovery mode.
  3. In TWRP, click on Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select Cache, Dalvik Cache, Data, and System > Swipe to wipe.
  4. Now get back to the main menu in TWRP.
  5. Click on Install > Install Zip > Locate PixelExperience_kenzo-9.0-xxxxxxx.zip file > Select this file > Swipe to flash.
  6. After flashing, once again go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select Cache and Dalvik Cache > Swipe to wipe.
  7. Reboot your phone into the system now.
  8. It will take a few minutes for the phone to boot up. You will have Android Pie up and running in a few minutes.
