Is there a new Moto Z in works? According to the new information making round in tech town, there indeed seems to be one in works. Motorola unveiled Moto Z last year which had a modular design, similar to what LG G5 has. But Moto Z was more successful than LG as its design, super slim metal body, specs and the mods made an amazing combination that the consumers could not resist. With a success story under the belt, the company would definitely work on its next generation model. A new smartphone was spotted at Geekbench with the model number Motorola XT1650, which is the model number for Moto Z.

There are two speculations among tech pundits at the moment, either the listing at Geekbench is for an upgraded version of Moto Z which will be 2017’s variant or this indeed is the new Moto Z flagship. Lets see on which side the argument settles on as we get more information about this device in the coming days.

The Moto Z (2017) /XT1650 is powered by octa-core MSM8998 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, which we know is Qualacomm’s Snapdragon 835, which will be landing in this years flagship. It will be paired with a 4GB RAM and runs the latest flavor of Android Nougat 7.1.1 right out of the box.

As we don’t have any official confirmation about the device, we cannot say anything about the rest of the features. There is a strong probability that we may look at the new Moto Z at the MWC 2017, as the company rolled out invitations a few days back for new Moto devices.
