LG started its V series with the LG V10 back in the year 2015. LG’s V series catered in much more success as compared to the flagship smartphones of its G series. Last year, LG released the V20 which was also pretty much popular, at least more popular than the LG G5. We have our eyes on the next success of the V series now. The LG V30 is slated for release later this month. LG V30 is definitely going to outclass many other flagship smartphones around. Here is what we know about this smartphone so far.

LG V30 Display, Design & Build: OLED Display, No Secondary Screen

LG has been using LCD displays for its smartphones for the past few years. LG V30 is expected to carry a 6.0-inch to 6.2-inch QHD display. Rumour has it that LG is preparing the LG V30 with an OLED display. The reason for pulling out OLED displays is the power efficiency and wider color gamut. OLED displays are also capable of handling Daydream VR. If the LG V30 is going to have the Daydream feature, then it’s definitely going to flaunt an OLED display. Samsung has been using the OLED displays on its Galaxy lineup for quite a while. Apple is also expected to go after OLED panels later this year. OLED displays are becoming a prime choice for smartphone manufacturers. It will be actually a good step for LG to say good bye to the traditional LCD displays.

It was highly anticipated earlier that the LG V30 will feature a slide-out display. LG V10 and V20 both had an additional display atop of the screen. LG V30 has been confirmed to ditch a secondary display in favor of a floating bar. Information regarding the functionality of this floating bar is not available as of yet.

LG V30 could be built out of 6000-aluminium and have the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone will also have IP68 certified water and dust resistance.

LG V30 Hardware: Snapdragon 835 CPU, Quad DAC in collaboration with B&O

LG didn’t make the use of the Snapdragon 835 CPU for the G6 or even the G6 Plus. This disappointed a lot of LG fans as the South Korean giant didn’t install the latest hardware available on its smartphones. We are hoping that LG won’t be repeating its mistake and it will come up with an upgraded spec-sheet. The LG V30 will supposedly have Snapdragon 835 powering it up. Having a look at the current trend of the smartphones, we can safely say that the LG V30 will offer a 4 GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage or a 6 GB RAM with a 128 GB storage chip. Both predecessors of the LG V30 support microSD card, there are more chances that the V30 will also offer expandable storage. It is also rumored that the LG V30 will benefit from the Quad DAC audio setup which we saw on the LG V20 previously. LG V20 came out with a 3200 mAh removable battery. Smartphones with removable batteries are now becoming a thing of the past. It will be really good to see LG V30 coming out with a removable battery packing up slightly more battery juice than that of the LG V30.

LG V30 Software

Some of the rumors pointed towards the phone running on Android O out of the box. Keeping in view its alleged release date, the phone will definitely not be able to run on Android O. LG V30’s software will be Android 7.0 Nougat based on LG’s UX 6.0.

LG V30 Camera

According to a leaked picture from the manual of the phone, LG V30 will carry a dual camera setup at its back. The phone will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner just below the camera.

LG V30 Release Date

LG has rolled out the invitations for its presser on August 31, 2017. LG is expected to pull the wraps off from the LG V30 on the upcoming event.

LG V30 Price

There hasn’t been any word about the LG V30’s price so far. If we look at the prices of the predecessors of the LG V30, it will be pretty much safe to assume that the LG V30 will land in the price bracket of $750 to $900.

The information given above has been collected from different sources. We do not own any of the information or images attached above. Take a pinch of salt before believing in any of the rumors. The specifications are subject to change with the release of the LG V30.

  1. Duo camera… are they moving back to 3D capability, like they did with the G Slide of long ago? That was a novel thing, and I’d like to see that come forth again.
