Instagram starts rolling out the Two-Factor Authentication for Android

Instagram is on a roll with their updates. To improve the security of the app, the company introduced the ‘two-factor authentication’ a year back. This feature had been trickling down to the users slowly and a lot of Android users didn’t get this feature.

Now it seems like that Instagram is rolling out the two-factor authentication (2FA) out this feature to Android users widely. Android Police informed about this update while mentioning that this is not confirmed whether this feature is being rolled out to beta users or for everyone.

If you are an Android user and did not see this feature earlier, go to your app Account setting. In that section, if the update has been rolled out to you, you will get to see the Two-Factor Authentication  feature. There you will have to enter the number you want the app to send you a code. Along with that if you use a new smartphone to access the app, you will get an SMS with a new code which you will have to punch in to get access to your account.

Doesn’t sound complicated. WhatsApp also got a similar feature last month to improve the apps privacy and security. Now the same is being done to the Instagram.
