Honor 9 Lite goes easy on the wallet but its hardware gives so much more

It is really impressive seeing Huawei releasing phones with an 18:9 aspect ratio and the Honor 9 Lite is one of the very few mid-range handsets to get the same display.

With the 18:9 aspect ratio, you get a 5.65-inch HD+ resolution, which in numbers stands for 2160 x 1080. This will make it one of the phone’s highlighted selling points, but if that was not enough then you also get a dual camera. With the dual camera, you will be able to find a 13MP + 2MP combo. The same dual camera combination can also be found at the front and should enhance the selfie-snapping experience for the user.

The rear secondary lens is not going to be telephoto lens because what we’ve seen so far, the phone has not even released a flagship that features a telephoto lens. Instead, we could see a monochrome lens, which will have less optics performance than high-end Android smartphones. Now for one of the most crucial hardware components present inside the Honor 9 Lite, the chipset.

The Honor 9 Lite includes an octa-core-running Kirin 659 chipset. Huawei continues the trend of releasing varied RAM versions. The 3GB RAM version will get you 32GB storage, while the 4GB RAM model will give you 64GB of internal memory in return. The mid-range phone like this will also give you the headphone jack and a microSD card. There is no front-facing fingerprint scanner but it is located at the back.

Providing the Honor 9 Lite the necessary amount of juice is a 3,000mAh battery, which is a decent battery size considering the size of the smartphone. Honor 9 Lite will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo right out of the box and it will be available for purchase in China starting December 26 for $180 and $275, depending on the model you decide to get.

It will also be available overseas but next year.
