Xiaomi officially announces Mi 5C with its own Pinecone processcor

Xaiomi was absent at the Mobile World Congress, that does not mean that they were just sitting around watching the big announcements come in. They have been working on their smartphones for this year and just today they have officially announced Xiaomi Mi 5C, the first smartphone to be powered by Xiomi’s homegrown Pinecone processor, Surge S1. This is Xiaomi’s bid to cut components costs that they used to outsource to others suppliers will result in ensuring their devices come with a competitive price point.

As far as the rest of the specs go, Xiaomi Mi F5 features a 5.15-inch JDI display with a full HD panel. Under the hood the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Surge S1 processor, clocked at  2.2GHz, along with Mali-T860MP4 GPU. In addition, you will find a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM with a 64GB of internal storage. The devie sports a 12-megapixel main rear camera which has an ultra-sensitive sensor with an 8-megapixel front facing camera which can take amazing selfies with its smart beauty 3.0 feature. Xiomi Mi 5C runs the Android 7.1 Nougat with the MIUI flavor on top and it will be powered by a 2850mAh battery.

With a unibody metal design, the smartphone is sleek and impressive and it is only 1.6 mm thin. The smartphone will be available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colors.  As the device is a mid-ranger, it is priced at 1499 Yuan which is equal to $218. The smartphone will be available for sale in China 3rd March and they will announce for other Asian countries like India. We wil keep you updated on these details.
