WhatsApp is always testing new features to keep their app up to date. The company recently brought back the text based Status update upon popular request. A few month’s back the developers added the GIF sharing and searching option. The only problem was limitation placed as users could only search for GIF’s using WhatsApp own emoji panel. This did not support Google’s Gboard in which users can directly insert GIF’s from the keyboard, which is more user friendly.
Working towards making the app more user friendly, the latest beta update allows the Gborad integration with the app. Now users can search for different GIF’s and add them to their conversation using the Gboard. Earlier, users had to find and download GIF’s to their smartphones and then add them to the conversation which at times limited what one could add. With the on-hand search option, users have more choice.
To get on board the beat update, so you get to test the feature and provide update to the team at Whatsapp, you can sign up to be a beta tester through Google Play. As soon as you get registered in the beta lost, you will receive this update.
