Samsung’s extremely popular, and the past flagship device, the Galaxy S2’s updates stopped at Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Samsung hasn’t shown any intentions to provide any further version of Android for this device. Galaxy S2, still today is one of the most widely used Android devices all across the world and also happens to be one of the best Android smartphones, and this thing paves a way for this device’s development activities. There are so many developers who keep on bringing up something new every second day to make your Galaxy S2 fly high, and somehow they’ve kept the interest of users alive with this device by providing different custom ROMs based on the latest and greatest versions of Android.
Google recently rolled out Android 4.4.4 KitKat with a lot of improvements. Guys at CyanogenMod made a quick move and developed a CM 11 based Android 4.4.4 KitKat Custom ROM for our beloved Samsung Galaxy S2. The ROM is a nightly build, but still is a great chance for you to get your device a latest KitKat. Nightly builds have a high chance of bugs, so if you’re about to install this ROM, make sure that you’re good enough at flashing the Custom ROMs and you’ve enough knowledge to handle it if something goes in the wrong direction, and the nightly builds may not be kept for everyday’s use.
In case you don’t know about CyanogenMod, CyanogenMod is the aftermarket distribution of Google’s Android OS, that has added lives to a number of Android devices forgotten by the manufacturers. As you scroll down, you will find the complete guide to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat on the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 using CyanogenMod (CM) 11 Custom ROM.
