Samsung’s flagship that will be announced later this month on March 29th and right now it is the talk around tech town. Well we have seen different images of the device leak along with the spec sheets and even videos to garner a heated discussion as to what the company has done right and what still needs work. Just today we got to know that Samsung will be introducing facial recognition with Galaxy S8 and we sure are excited about it. Amidst such news, we got an update that unlocked versions of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have shown up at the FCC.
The devices have been filed as, Galaxy S8 with the model number SM-G950U and Galaxy S8+ with the model number SM–G955U. ‘U’ in these model numbers indicate that this is a factory unlocked version for Galaxy S8 and S8+. Looking at the listing which tells us about the band, mode and frequency supported, it can easily be gauged that the device is compatible with the major US carriers.
This means that an unlocked version of the smartphones will may arrive alongside the locked version for different carriers. Samsung with Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, got the unlocked version three months after its release date. The global release for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is all set for April 28th and there is a chance that this unlocked version may land in the US market along with the carriers versions.
