These phones will be running a Snapdragon 845 from next year

For 2018 we can all expect a bezel-less smartphone design that will get the best of the best in smartphone hardware. This will obviously include the Snapdragon 845. The American versions of the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ and possibly the Galaxy Note 9 are going to get the Snapdragon 845, but there are a lot of other phones that will feature this chipset. In fact, too many of them.

The LG G6 featured a Snapdragon 821, and since we have not heard of the smartphone giant looking to make its own chipsets anytime soon, the Snapdragon 845 is going to be the last and obvious choice for the user. In addition, affordable phones like the OnePlus 6T, which could also be called OnePlus 6 will feature the Snapdragon 845, along with other hardware upgrades.

The Snapdragon 845 itself has been rumored to be made on the slower 10nm LPE architecture. For those that are confused, Snapdragon 845-powered models of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are sold in America and if the rumor holds true, these versions will be slower than the rest of the world’s versions, which will have an Exynos 9810.

The Snapdragon 845 will be capable of gigabit LTE speeds thanks to its Snapdragon X20 LTE modem. While the major details have yet to come through, Qualcomm will be making them public. We reckon that more details will be provided at the CES 2018 trade show.

What readers will be dying to see is the performance and efficiency differences between the Snapdragon 845 and this year’s Snapdragon 835. There will be other features to look forward to, so when we have something, we’ll unleash it at the earliest.
