The Xiaomi Redmi 5 was released in December 2017. The phone came out with a screen of 5.7 inches having 720 x 1440 pixels resolution. Xiaomi Redmi 5 was powered by Qualcomm SDM450 Snapdragon 450 CPU and Adreno 506 GPU. It had internal storage of 32 GB, 3/4 GB RAM or 16 GB, 2 GB RAM. How To Switch Redmi 5 from Chinese to Global ROM:

Following are two methods which you can use to Switch Redmi 5 from Chinese to Global ROM. Both methods are working perfectly, you can choose any of them.

Before you Begin:

Installing the Global ROM on the Redmi 5 with Mi Flash:

  • Run the Mi Flash Tool.
  • First, Copy the folder location of Fastboot ROM.
  • Now paste that folder location in the empty box located at the Top of Mi Flash Tool.
  • Boot your Redmi 5 into FastBoot Mode and connect it to the PC using USB Cable.
  • Click on the refresh button.
  • Before you proceed make sure your device is detected by Mi Flash Tool. You will see your device ID in column 1.
  • Choose Clean All, Save User Data, and Clean All and Lock.
  • Once you are done with everything, Click the Flash Button.
  • That will be all, Sit back and wait for the Mi Flash Tool to do its job.

Installing the Global ROM on the Redmi 5 with the Command Prompt:

  • Download and Install ADB and Fastboot tools.
  • Copy the extracted ROM content to the same folder where you have ADB and Fastboot tools.
  • Boot your Redmi 5 into Fastboot Mode and connect it to the PC using USB Cable.
  • Right-Click in the same folder where you have placed all the files and select Command Prompt.
  • Type out flash_all.bat and press Enter on the keyboard (or flash_all.sh on macOS or Linux in a terminal).
  • Once the ROM is flashed on your Redmi 5 your device will reboot itself.
