Specs, Features and Official Images for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ leak ahead of official launch

Samsung will be officially announcing their Galaxy S-series flagship in just three days. Not only Sammy fans but industry experts are looking forward to the formula that the company has whipped for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ after the last disaster. This flagship is one of the most leaked devices ever, just yesterday we go to see the official accessories along with some stunning images of Galaxy S8+. Now the specs, features and official renders of the device have leaked ahead of the official launch by WinFuture.

With the Galaxy S8 flagship Samsung definitely want to set the record straight and prove that they still are at the top of their game. So for that purpose Samsung with Galaxy S8 is presenting the ‘best features’ with a ‘breakthrough design’.

True to their words the design philosophy for Galaxy S8 is different from its predecessors. Both the devices have a dual curved display and as there is no home button, the screen to body ratio has been increased giving us the ‘Infinity Display‘. Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display and Galaxy S8+ will feature a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display. Both the devices follow the 18:9 aspect ratio, giving the device a sleeker and compact look, Galaxy S8+ and iPhone 7 Plus have the same height but S8+ is narrower.

Apart from the display, the camera is going to be the highlight of the device. The camera specs of Galaxy S7 were stunning and same specs have been followed for Galaxy S8 and S8+. The smartphone sports a 12MP sensor at the back with f/1.7 aperture, dual pixel autofocus and 4K video recording. The device has an 8MP selfie-shooter with f/1.7 aperture to ‘capture highly dynamic situations‘. The iris scanner will also be there but the enhanced features will provide for quick, easy and more reliable user identification. There was chatter about the flagship having ‘facial recognition’ but that didn’t get confirmed.

As there is no home button, the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the rear of the device. Well what’s new there is that the fingerprint scanner will support gestures to open and close apps. Now isn’t this nifty? Along with that users will get a Secure Folder and the device will have IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be equipped with 2.5GHz octa-core Exynos 8895 SoC or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for some regions. This SoC will be paired with a 4GB RAM (6GB RAM for the Chinese variants), 64 GB native storage which can be extended via the SDcard to 256GB. The 3.5mm headphone jack is present along with GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and a USB Type-C port.

Galaxy S8 and S8+ will run Android 7.0 Nougat. Galaxy S8 will be powered by a 3000mAh battery and Galaxy S8+ will be powered by a 3,500 mAh battery. The smartphones support wireless charging and we did see the new wireless charger yesterday. Along with that Bixby, Samsung’s own voice based AI assistant will make a debut in the devices and will have its own home button. In terms of the colors, the new report suggest that the flagship will come in Black, Blue, Gold, Orchid Gray and Silver.

Samsung will also offer a new service program ‘Samsung Guard S8‘ in some markets that will allow users to take their smartphone homes after getting them repaired in 2 hours. Extension for the official warranty will also be offered on some markets. The company was deliberating unconditional refunds, let’s see what becomes of it.

Samsung will be launching Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on March 29 with dedicated events taking place in New York and London. Knowing Samsung they are going to be spectacular events. So what do you think?
