Sony Xperia XZ2 render is a bezel-less beauty that will make Mi MIX 2 users quite jealous

Don’t get us wrong, the Sony XZ Premium is an amazing smartphone but if the manufacturer were to change up the design, perhaps it could see more success in the future. That is where this render of the Xperia XZ2 falls into place. According to the leaked image, this rectangular-shaped phone could be the company’s next mobile product for 2018.

It has been reported to feature a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio and looking at the design of the phone, we’re inclined to agree. The bottom part of the smartphone has virtually no bezels, with the top brow getting an earpiece, camera, and other hardware. This model features the numbers H8216 and has been rumored to come with a dual camera.

There was a previous leak which spoke of a Xperia smartphone that would feature a bezel-less display and would be arriving in 2018. It would still feature a Snapdragon 835 and Sony would finally be ditching the old smartphone design, thus getting on track with the industry.

The details of the phone that we are seeing right now could also be offered in a version that features an 18:9 aspect ratio. However, it is probable that one of these devices features a Snapdragon 835 while the other one features a Snapdragon 845.

The improved efficiency of either one of these chipsets means that Sony might not have to use Adaptive Display technology on the next Xperia successor that gets a 4K display. This means that the smartphone might not have to switch from 4K to 1080p resolutions in order to conserve battery life.

The 4K resolution is going to be displayed at a screen size of 5.5 inches, with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a 3,130mAh battery. From the looks of it, this render looks like it belongs to a premium phone, so it could come running a Snapdragon 845 straight out of the factory.

Only time will tell if Sony is actually planning on releasing something based on this.
