Sony Xperia XZ Pro could greatly challenge 2018’s flagships if it features these specifications

In 2018, the Sony Xperia XZ Pro might land and fight against the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. According to a list of leaked specifications, if the Xperia XZ Pro might feature these internals, then it could become a huge threat to Samsung and other Android flagship smartphone makers.

Right off the bat, you’re getting a Snapdragon 845, which was definitely expected since we are moving into 2018 but if you take a look at the other hardware, they go higher than what the Galaxy S9 will be able to provide, at least according to the rumors. The Xperia XZ Pro might come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage plus support for a microSD card that supports up to 256GB of memory.

The smartphone could also feature a dual camera that will give it features such as optical zoom for both video and image capture. This could also be the third smartphone from the Sony family that features a 4K panel, but here is where things might become very different. Instead of featuring an IPS display, we could be seeing an OLED panel.

However, the 4K resolution and OLED technology pairing might become a very expensive solution, but if you look at the other hardware specifications, the flagship was not going to be winning awards for a competitively priced handset.

These specs also reveal that the Xperia XZ Pro will provide support for 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, which is going to be the first time an Android smartphone is able to provide support for this addition if the Galaxy S9 does not get announced with this upgrade.

There is no telling when the smartphone is going to be unveiled or when it will be available to purchase but we sure know one thing; Sony has started to take its phone lineup more seriously.
