Sony Xperia device code named Pikachu spotted at GFXBench and Antutu

With the MWC 2017 event just a few days to go, hot updates, renders and leaks are making the rumors mills go crazy. Some brands have clarified which ‘wares’ they are bringing to the event like LG will unveil LG G6, Huawei will announce Huawei P10 and Blackberry will make a comeback with BlackBerry Mercury. Sony’s plans are still up in the air as cannot confirm which devices they will be announcing at the event. A report out a few days ago suggested that 5 new Xperia devices at the MWC ranging from entry level to flagships. Today a new mid range Xperia device code named ‘Pikachu‘ which is expected to be Xperia XA2 was spotted at the GFXBench and Antutu.

 

As per the specs which were revealed on the  Antutu Benchmark, Sony Pikachu will sport a 720 x 1280 resolution display. The smartphone will be equipped by MediaTek Heilo P20 MT6757 SoC accompanied by Mali T880 GPU. Sony Pikachu will feature a 3GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage and will feature a 23-megapixel main and 8-megapixel front facing camera.  It will be powered by Android Nougat right out of the box.

Sony Pikachu was also spotted at the GFXBench and we can see similar specs, which confirms a few aspects. According to the listing at GFXBench, the device will feature a 5.0-inch 720p resolution display. The smartphone will be powered by MediaTek MT6757 , similar to what was seen in Antutu Benchmark, along with a 3GB RAM. A 22-megapixel main and 8-megapixel front facing camera will be found on the device.

According to the given information Sony Pikachu is the device code named Hinoki, which is expected to be announced on 27th  February at the MWC. Sony will not be unveiling their flagship at the event, as they were unable to secure Snapdragon 835, it will be announced in Q2 of this year.
