Samsung pulls off an LG tactic, hints at features that Galaxy S8 has on pre-registration page

Unless you are living under a rock, you would know that Samsung will be announcing their new flagship devices Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ later this month. With a few days left, the rumor mills is going strong and everyday we get to see something new, today we got to see the back panels of the device leak along with the info that there may indeed be a violet colored Galaxy S8. Now it seems like not only tipsters but Samsung itself is taking part in teasing us about the different features that Galaxy S8 has. On the Galaxy 8 pre-registration page the company is asking people what features would they like Galaxy S8 to have.

Samsung seems to be pulling off an LG tactic. LG just launched their latest flagship LG G6 in South Korea. Before that the company had started off their aggressive marketing campaign in January with their ‘Ideal Smartphone’ promo leading to them dropping hints in the invitations about the smartphone’s battery, AI assistant and even the camera features it will come with. Even though Samsung did not overtly come up with something like that but it is good that the company itself is taking a part in teasing people the different features Galaxy S8 will come with.

The page gives people five options to assess the different features that they are looking for: Superior camera, Stylish and Premium design, Enhanced battery life, Powerful gaming experience and Enhanced Virtual Reality experience. We already know that with Galaxy S8, the company has changed the design by removing the home button and increasing the screen-to-body ratio. The all screen dual curve display called the ‘Infinity Display‘ gives the device an amazing look if the leaked live images are something to go by.

As the company is using the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 chipset both of which have been produced using the 10nm fabrication process. These chipsets are 25% faster and 20% more energy efficient than their predecessor, so well the enhanced battery life is something that can be delivered with the new SoC. VR and the powerful gaming experience can be delivered through the high end specs and the Infinity display. The ‘Superior Camera’ specs are a bit doable as Samsung will be using the same camera specs used in Galaxy S7. Maybe they have something new uo their sleeve which we haven’t heard about, but that remains to be seen.

To undermine LG G6 sales, Samsung launched their ad campaign in South Korea over the weekend, so it will be interesting to see what Samsung pulls off next.
