Samsung Galaxy S8 to be a no-show at MWC 2017

After months of speculation about Samsung Galaxy S8 announcement, we now have confirmation that it will not be unveiled at the MWC 2017. Samsung chief, DJ Koh today confirmed this aspect. As per tradition, Samsung usually makes use of the MWC platform to unveil their S-flagship for the year. This year they are delaying the announcement of Galaxy S8.

The delay is caused by the issues caused by the exploding batteries of Galaxy Note 7 which ended up in the discontinuation of the device. Afterwards industry analysts speculated that Galaxy S8 may arrive in January or February, so that Samsung can prove that they can still make exceptional smartphones. For the past few weeks, the rumors swirling around the Galaxy S8 suggested that Samsung will be unveiling the device on 29th March at an exclusive event and the global release date being pinged for mid-April.

The delay can be attributed to the fact that Samsung wanted to ensure that nothing goes wrong with Galaxy S8. They have taken the additional time to test the product, so that no issues arise. The company’s reputation cannot withstand another disaster. With Galaxy Note 7 investigation report being public we know that apart from the irregular battery size, there was a manufacturing fault. This was caused by increasing production, hence compromising on the quality of the product.
