Fix Samsung Galaxy S5 Running Slow & Related Problems

Galaxy S5 seems Slower after Lollipop Update:

This can happen, as you have updated to the new OS on Samsung. The old temporary data files are causing this issue. You can fix Galaxy S5 seems Slower after Lollipop Update by clearing the cache and doing a factory reset.

  • Turn off your device.
  • Now press and hold home+Power+Volume Up key.
  • Release the power button once you see a logo, but keep holding home and Volume up keys.
  • Now when you see Android logo, let go both buttons.
  • Use the volume down button to navigate and highlight wipe cache partition.
  • Now use the power key to select the option.
  • You have to select ‘Yes‘ when you’ll be prompted for next menu.
  • Now wait for the process to be completed, once it’s done highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press power button to select it.
  • All Done.

Factory Reset:

  • Turn off your device.
  • Now press and hold home+Power+Volume Up key.
  • Release the power button once you see the logo, but keep holding home and Volume up keys.
  • Now when you see Android logo, let go both buttons.
  • Use the volume down button to navigate and highlight wipe data/factory reset.
  • Now use the power key to select the option.
  • You have to select ‘Yes‘ when you’ll be prompted for next menu.
  • Now wait for the process to be completed, once it’s done highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press power button to select it.
  • All Done.

Galaxy S5 Display is Sluggish or Very Slow to Respond:

All I told before if you have multiple apps running in your background. It can cause your device to respond very slow. First, Clear the apps in the background. [ Stop Android apps running in the background ]

You can also perform a Soft Reboot. Turn off your device by holding the power button for few seconds.

Galaxy S5 is Lagging after Downloading and Installing an Application:

This is because the app you have recently installed causing this issue. Please remove the app or apps you have recently installed. Heed the instructions below.

  • Open Settings – > Apps -> Application Manager -> Downloaded Screen -> Tap on App -> Un-Install.

Galaxy S5 is Slow, Freezing and Crashing while using Facebook or other Apps:

Now It comes around to the same issue. Boot your device in Safe Mode and observe. If the issue is still there and no luck for you. Update your device to the latest version of OS.   • Now tap Clear Cache.
  • Now restart your Android device now.

  • Turn off your device.
  • Now press and hold home+Power+Volume Up key.
  • Release the power button once you see a logo, but keep holding home and Volume up keys.
  • Now when you see Android logo, let go both buttons.
  • Use the volume down button to navigate and highlight wipe cache partition.
  • Now use the power key to select the option.
  • You have to select ‘Yes‘ when you’ll be prompted to next menu.
  • Now wait for the process to be completed, once it’s done highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press power button to select it.
  • All Done.

Galaxy S5 is Very Slow when Browsing:

You might Need to Clear the Data and Cache of your browser. Follow the Steps below.

Clear App Cache and Data:

  • One your Android device, open Settings > Applications / Applications Manager > All Apps
  • Scroll all the way down and locate APP.
  • Tap APP to open its settings.
  • If you’re using Android Marshmallow or higher, you will have to tap APP > Storage to open cache and data options.
  • Now tap Clear Cache.
