Samsung files a patent for a Flip Cover with an E-ink display

Samsung is not only working on producing impeccable devices but their accessories as well. The company has filed a patent application for a Flip cover with an e-ink display. This is a unique concept which shows the integration of smartphones with their accessories.

The Flip cover will allow users to interact with their device. Not only will they be able to look up notifications but connect with their device too. As Samsung is planning to introduce their own AI virtual assistant Bixby, we can definitely see the possibilities stretch. The display can be used as a suggestions too or give suggestions on new movies based on your likes or the hottest events in town. All there for you to see on the display. Well this is just our wishful thinking.

There are two cut outs, the window below will house the e-ink display. You will be able to navigate through the content of your smartphone through it. As to when we will see the design in its physical form, we are not sure yet as first the prototypes will have to be developed, tested with devices and then ready for release. Maybe this will be an accessory with Galaxy Note 8.
