  • I attempted using the recommended rooting program to root my Samsung Tab A 9.7 sm-t550nzaxar, 6.0.1, build mmb29m.t550xxu1gkp1 and froze my machine with, alternately, flashing Samsung and opening screen - Samsung Tab A . After much research and recovery attempts - (could not boot into recovery mode), I downloaded a clean copy of Samsungs 6.0.1 update and used Odin 3.10.7 to recover my tablet. Before recovering with original software, I attempted to use the recommended software to boot my machine into the recovery mode. None of the recommended (other than Odin) worked on my software build. When attempting to locate other rooting software, I met with no success. Does anyone know of a rooting program that I can use for my machine??? I would like to install some 3rd party software that requires it to be rooted. An anomaly that my machine has is there is no "unlock" switch to turn on or off. It only has a switch for "developers". From reading the many comments at the "Ashyx" site, I was only one of many people who crashed their 9.7's. Just as a note - By installing the Samsung update, I recovered my machine and lost no exiting apps or data.
