Pixel 2 XL touch screen responsive issues are occurring but Google already has a fix underway

For an $849 phone such as the Pixel 2 XL, Google sure knows how to make it rife with problems. The recent one happens to be touchscreen responsive issue that users have been reporting about.

According to a Pixel community member several users have started to complain about the problem and have summarized it below:

“Does anyone else have this issue? The touchscreen works while sliding my finger along the edge works, but when touching it directly, it doesn’t detect that touch along the edge. It seems like the touch screen is less responsive near the right edge of the screen. Left side of the screen seems a little better. But the right side is noticeable during normal use. Just wondering if this is a defect or not?”

If you take a look at the video given below, it will display exactly what is going on and it is not a pretty sight for something that the buyer spent $849 in the United States just to get their hands on a smartphone. In other countries, the Pixel 2 XL is going to cost you a lot more.

Fortunately, being the owner of a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL means that you are just days or maybe hours away from getting a software or security update that will make all of these problems go away.

Google has reported that it has been working on a software update that will get rid of this responsive issue but there is a catch; it is going to be addressed in the next OTA update.

The bad news is that Google has not specified when this software update is going to be released. Till it becomes available, we recommend that you grow patient with your smartphone because the responsiveness timing plus the amount of money you spent on the Pixel 2 XL will definitely make you livid.
