OxygenOS 5.1.11 out for OnePlus 6 – Fixes Screen Flickering and improves HDR

OnePlus 6 just started receiving the OxygenOS 5.1.11 update. The update brings a handful of changes. At first, the company has fixed the screen flickering issue. The update further improves the network connectivity and also improves the WiFi stability. There are some general bug fixes and improvements. Upon entering the pin on the lockscreen now, the users do not need to tap the “Tick” button anymore. Entering the accurate pin will instantly unlock the screen. The update also improves the HDR Mode of the camera on OnePlus 6.

Earlier, a number of OnePlus 6 users reported the screen flickering issue on the device. The issue occurred when the users exposed their phone to bright light or the sunlight. While maintaining the brightness between two different levels, the screen flickered. OnePlus was kind enough to respond admitting that the issue is widespread and it will soon fix it in an upcoming update. Today’s update fixes the issue.

So far, the users always had to press the “tick” button after entering the PIN or Password on the lockscreen. OnePlus has changed that too. Now you can just enter the PIN or Password and let the phone unlock automatically.

Changelog:

System

  • Optimized network connection
  • Optimized stability for Wi-Fi connection
  • Fixed screen flickering issue in daylight

The new OxygenOS 5.1.11 also brings the latest security patch. As always, the update will roll out in different phases. It may take a while to reach out to your region. If you want to update your phone instantly, you can get the OxygenOS Updater application. That is how I was able to get this update as soon as it rolled out.
