OnePlus 5T price hint: It will cost you around $600, according to CEO

Slowly but surely, OnePlus is shifting away from providing consumers with a flagship that oozes powerful hardware but costs a third of the price as opposed to other high-end phones. The OnePlus 5T is going to be one such example because as the competition gets tougher, manufacturers will need to start coming up with better designs and features with which to tackle the competition and sadly, it will cost you more money to experience that.

Still, what could the OnePlus 5T cost you? Well, according to Weibo, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau states that the phone will cost the user around $600 if and when you convert 4,000 Yuan into USD. This is certainly a huge distance from the OnePlus One, which cost less than $400 but look at all the hardware that’s expected to be present in the OnePlus 5T.

The highest configured smartphone will have 8GB of RAM and though it will look very similar to the OPPO R11s, a majority of the users will probably forget about all that when they get to know how much firepower they will be getting access to from an Android flagship.

The phone itself is expected to retain the same design as the OnePlus 5, but give you an 18:9 aspect ratio instead, with a resolution measuring at 2160 x 1080. Since the OnePlus 5T could feature the same size as the OnePlus 5 despite its 6-inch display, it is possible that you guys get to see the same battery capacity as that found in the predecessor.

We certainly hope this is not going to be the case, because the OnePlus 3T featured a 3,400mAh battery; a 400mAh difference between the cell found in the OnePlus 3. One more thing, Pete Lau didn’t specify if this $600 price tag was going to be for the base storage model, which features 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or the highest spec’d out version, so we’ll need to hear an update regarding this.

Would you upgrade to this flagship?
