OnePlus 5T official: Comes with thinner bezels and a new Face Unlock feature

Sticking with the pace of the competition, the OnePlus 5T is officially here and takes several features and hardware from the OnePlus 5. If you like bigger-display phones then you will surely love this one.

Specifications

OnePlus 5T comes with a Snapdragon 835 and a different display than the phone that was launched just a few months ago. It features a 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display with Optic AMOLED technology, with the resolution measuring at 2160 x 1080. The base model comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM which is going to be more than enough, but if you want to spend more money, you can always opt for the 8GB RAM model.

Like all powerful phones, there is ample amount of internal storage that is running on the UFS 2.1 standard. This makes the phone extremely fast and snappy, with applications opening and closing in the blink of an eye. The OnePlus 5T comes with 128GB of onboard storage but no expandable storage unfortunately but keep in mind that this is going to be for the highest configured phone.

OnePlus 5T will also come with a single 16MP primary shooter with a camera aperture of f/1.7, with the secondary lens being a 20MP sensor with the same aperture. The second lens will act as a regular lens and not a telephoto lens, and while you will not be able to zoom in on the subject, you will still get things like Portrait Mode.

For video recording, 4K is supported and for stabilization, EIS or electronic image stabilization will be present. There is also a 3,300mAh battery to give extended life on your smartphone.

Here is one other thing that’s changed about the OnePlus 5T; instead of a fingerprint reader at the front, it now features what the company calls Face Unlock. It is a new facial recognition system that unlocks the phone in 0.4 seconds when it recognizes your face. The phone also comes with a headphone jack, which is something that is rare these days.

The OnePlus 5T price for the base storage model of 64GB costs $500. We will have updates on the 8GB RAM/128GB storage version but in the United States, the OnePlus 5T release date is set for Tuesday or November 21.
