The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were expected to receive the Android Oreo 8.0 update but it looks like something has gone awfully wrong. According to the OnePlus forums, the company was supposed to be releasing a stable version of the Android Oreo 8.0 for the aforementioned devices around two weeks ago.
Unfortunately, the company and its developers have been forced to pull the plug on this update because there are still some bugs and other issues that need to be addressed first. While this might annoy the OnePlus forum members and users of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, it is the right decision to make right now.

Not being able to address these bugs and issues could result in an even bigger problem down the road. While it might not be as catastrophic as the iPhone 6 ‘bendgate’, it could mean that OnePlus and its developer squad would have to invest more time and resources to tackle additional problems.
Apart from bringing in new features for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users, Face Unlock was also going to be part of the feature set. Unfortunately, there is no telling when OnePlus will make the Android Oreo 8.0 update public again, but if you want to keep track of their progress, you are more than welcome to join their forums and keep tabs on what they are up to.
