Nokia 8 listed online for pre-order, MWC launch in the books?

Is a Nokia flagship making it way to the Mobile World Congress? According to the information that we got our hands on last week, HMD Global is planning to announce 4 entry level Nokia smartphones at the event which are Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and  modern  Nokia 3310. A new listing at JD.com makes adds to the speculation that there will be one more smartphone at the event, Nokia 8.

JD.com is the exclusive retailer for Nokia branded smartphones in China. Nokia 6 was only retailed at that website. Now Nokia 8 is listed for pre-sale at the site and it is priced at $465.  This has been listed by a 3rd party and it does not state when the device will hit the shelves. The images that are on the site strongly resemble the Nokia 8 and Nokia P1 concept renders seen to date. So there is a possibility that this maybe the actual device.

In terms of specs the Nokia 8, will features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution. Under the hood the device will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 or Snapdragon 835. If Nokia 6 indeed is launching at the MCW, then Snapdragon 835 seems unlikely as Samsung’s Galaxy S8 will be the first device to have that chipset on-board. In addition, Nokia 8 will have a 24MP rear camera and a 12MP selfie shooter. The device will have a 64GB and 128GB internal memory options that will be expandable via the Micro SDcard. Nokia 8 will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone will be sleek with a metal glass build to give it a more premium look.

If HMD Global indeed is planning to unveil Nokia 8/P1 at the MWC, then this will be confirmed in a few days. Just like any other news, take this with a grain of salt. A Nokia flagship indeed is under works but we don’t think so it will be announced at the MWC.
