LG G6 battery safe from overheating claims LG

LG will be releasing their next flagship device, the LG G6 at the MWC next month. The have been dropping in hints as to what the consumers expect from the upcoming device. A new report out by the Korean Herald stated that LG G6 will not face any issues of overheating as claimed by the company.

LG will be making use of copper heat pipes that will distribute the heat around the battery. Along with that the heat pipes are quite resilient and will not overheat, even at high temperatures of 150 C. The placement of the internal components is also done in such a way that the elements that have the tendency to heat up will not touch each other. Apart from that they are testing the battery for various scenarios so that no issue arises.

We are conducting battery heat exposure tests to a temperature 15 percent higher than the temperature set by the international standards of the US and Europe. The battery also undergoes diverse tests such as piercing it with a sharp nail or dropping a heavy object on it from a high place.

This update is a direct jab at Samsung for the battery exploding fiasco that Note 7  faced. We all know the ongoing competition between LG and Samsung. Well this time around, LG is pulling out all stops and targeting Samsung. LG has even pushed back the release date of LG G6 to 10th March which will give them a competitive edge from Samsung who will be launching Galaxy S8 in the middle of April.

LG has been strategically marketing the LG G6. First they dropped a promo video which focused on the how the new smartphone has been developed keeping in view what people need. Now this update will also balance the scale in their favor as they have highlighted an issue which their rivals have been unable to solve.
