Sony is on a roll this year, the company kicked off the year by announcing 4 new Xperia handsets at the Mobile World Congress. Not only did the company announce a stunning flagship Xperia XZ Premium but also introduced Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra. From the latest report it looks like these weren’t the only devices of the year and the company will be launching Xperia L1 with the model number G3312 later this year.
Actually the smartphone got certified by the Russian telecommunication regulatory authority and this latest information comes from the documents filed there. Xperia L1 will most probably end up looking like its predecessor. Xperia L was launched in 2013, we are curious as to why Sony would revive this lineup after 4 years.
Sony Xperia L features a 4.3-inch display and an LED notification strip. As the details on the successor are sketchy we cannot say for sure what the company has in plan for Xperia L1. Most likely like Xperia L, Xperia L1 will be a mid-range following the same design philosophy. With Sony already bringing out mid-range devices this year, why would they add another one?
If the Sony Xperia L1 indeed is in works we will got to know more about it soon, but till then take this update with a grain of salt as there are a couple of things about Sony’s strategy that does not make sense.
