Apple’s anniversary device ‘iPhone 8‘ is one of the most anticipated devices of the year. Following the development for the past few months, we know that the company is working towards a ‘radical redesign’. The latest report confirms that the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 will sport a slightly curved edges display with a 2.5D glass which will fit over it.
The curved display for iPhone 8 will not be similar to the one seen in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The edges will will be slightly curved at the edges and the rest of the display will be flat. The slight curved edges will give the device a more sleeker look and a true ‘edge-to-edge’ display. As the company is planning to remove the home button from the front, that will lead to an all glass display with minimal bezels. This will give way to a Multi-Touch area that will have improved gesture recognition.
Apple at the moment is testing different prototypes with different features and displays. One of the displays is rumored to have a more ‘pronounced’ curved edge which will house different features. But industry analysts suggest that it is unlikely that Apple will go for a 3D glass this year, as the company has not tested this feature much and there are issues with mass production for such a component.
With the launch of the device a few months ahead, we will get to know more about what other features and functionalities will be looking at. Analysts have already predicted that iPhone 8 sales will top the sales of iPhone 7 and will be one of the bestselling smartphones of all times. We will keep you updated on how the story develops.
