LG G Pad 7.0’s high end specifications make it a great tablet device to play with. We have got this device powered up with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 Quad Core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz accompanied by a RAM of 1 GB and 8 GB internal storage. A 3.5 MP camera is fixed at the back and a 1.3 MP camera shooter is fixed on the front of a 7.0 inch IPS display with 216 ppi. Under the hood we’ve got a huge 4000 mAh battery and the device can be found running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. If you happen to be a lucky G Pad 7.0 owner and you also happen to be an Android power user, you would definitely love to explore the vast world of Android where no limits can be found. A very good way to test your device is by tweaking it at a maximum level, for this purpose you may take a start by flashing small tweaks, MODs, different customisations and obviously, a plethora of a custom ROMs that is available for this device out there. But to pave a way for all the customisations on your device, you need root access and then a custom recovery. You will be wondering about both these things right now, but let us move forward and you’re going to understand all.
Root access on your G Pad 7.0 will allow you to explore the root directory of your device and load root required applications to enhance the capabilites of your device, while a custom recovery can do the similar from the boot menu of your device. It will simply allow you to flash tweaks, MODs, custom ROMs and the most important part, it will allow you to create or restore Nandroid backup. You can also wipe cache and dalvik cache, a number of other features is there to try out. When it comes to custom recoveries, there are only two big names CWM and TWRP, and when it comes to pick up the best one, I personally love to go with TWRP since it has a great and easy to use UI. Luckily, latest version of TWRP, TWRP 2.8.5.0 is now available for LG G Pad 7.0 V400 & V410. In this guide, we will flash this latest TWRP 2.8.5.0 on the LG G Pad 7.0. Let’s go through some quick preparations and then flash this recovery.
Early Preparations:
Disclaimer: The methods involved in flashing custom recoveries, roms and rooting your phone are highly custom and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturer that is LG in our case. Also rooting your device will void its warranty and you will be no longer eligible for any kind of free device services by the manufacturers/warranty providers. Follow these instructions to the letter to avoid any mishap or bricking. Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.

It´s good that TWRP is possible with the V400, but at the moment it lacks custom ROMs. I haven´t seen some yet. I would like to have a cleaner interface because the LG ROM is loaded with too much stuff. Not the worst vendor but still some bothersome crap.
Hi professor, can you tell me wher you can get the twrp for lg-v400 rooted with lollipop
I will buy you some beers I'f you can help me
@williamfrencken:disqus that TWRP is linked above. Please find the link and use instructions to flash it.
So the link is also for lollipop 5.02 on v400
Thanks again
Wim
When I reboot I get the message "ERROR: boot certification verify". What to do now?
Thanks,
TJ
I don't believe its for lollipop
@disqus_SexZZei1rf:disqus recovery links are attached above
@tjerkbijdeleij:disqus your device isn't booting up anymore? what's the current status? Do you have TWRP recovery installed at the moment or not?
Yes, the device is booting up properly. However the bootloader is still locked. I cannot get it unlocked! I now have put it into the fastboot menu and then enter 'fastboot oem unlock'. However, then I get the message 'FAILED unknown remote command'
THIS IS NOT FOR ANDROID 5.0.1 (LOLLIPOP) WILL NOT WORK......ONLY FOR 4.2.2
Yes the unit is rebooting properly but I now found out that the error message is generated because the bootloader is stll locked. I cannot get it unlocked. From the fastboot menu I enter 'Fastboot oem unlock' but the I get the error message: FAILED remote unknown
@tjerkbijdeleij:disqus @usamamujtaba:disqus I am having the same issue. When Flashify reboots my device, the device only shows the message "ERROR: boot certification verify". It still boots up but TWRP isn't flashed. Were you able to find a fix?
Thank you. This is very hellfull
Hi. i have trouble booting my LG Gpad 7. it only boots to twrp recovery.
So, any sollution for lollipop? I also have the same error boot certification verfy. The, main system still boots fine but I'm hesitant to install cyanogen if there's an issue with the recovery...
I followed this guide to the letter on my G Pad 7.0 V410. I currently have TWRP and CM12.1 nightly installed. My problem is for some reason after installing ANY custom recovery (TWRP or CWM), I am met with the LG logo upon startup followed by the white line issue. I get these white lines instead of the stock AT&T logo, or the custom CM logo from the CM12.1 nightly ROM. I'm fairly certain it's not my hardware malfunctioning, as when I return to stock without root everything boots normally. It ONLY happens after installing ANY custom recovery. These white lines disappear after about a minute (once the tablet finishes booting fully). The screen goes into sleep mode as if I had pressed the power button (which I didn't/don't), and when I DO press power to wake it up the custom ROM works as normal. I don't know how, but I managed to get the tablet to a certain screen that said my bootloader was still locked even after getting the custom recovery/custom ROM installed with root access and everything. Should it still be locked, or is this my problem? Is it another problem altogether? Any help is ALWAYS greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
I have the tablet G pad 8.0 lte, can i install the CM 12.1 ROM of v410?
I can't get TWRP downloaded. Says my ISO is corrupted. I wish I could find it in a non-IMG file.
