Huawei Honor V10 features a 2:1 display with a beautiful red color and flagship-like hardware

Huawei is back with another phone that features a smaller price tag than the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro but offers similarities in the hardware department. The Honor V10 is official and features a 5.99-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080.

With phones featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio, we were expecting that the home button would no longer be present on the front side of the Honor V10 but surprisingly, it is still there. What is even more surprising is that the newly announced smartphone features the same Kirin 970 that powers the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, making the device every bit as powerful as the two aforementioned phones.

Alongside the Kirin 970, the Honor V10 also sports 4 or 6GB or RAM depending on which model you decide to get. Just like several Huawei devices released, you will get 64GB of internal memory with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage with 6GB RAM. For added convenience, both the microSD card and 3.5mm headphone are available and if this did not please not, wait till you hear the battery capacity of the Honor V10.

Despite its 18:9 aspect ratio and reduced bezels, Huawei managed to cram in a decent-sized 3,750mAh battery. This reveals that manufacturers do not always have to remove crucial features from a smartphone such as a larger battery, headphone jack, and expandable storage slot.

However, the reduced price tag also comes with a few compromises. The Honor V10 features a dual 16 + 20MP cameras at the back, but there is no Leica branding anywhere on the smartphone. The 20MP camera is a monochrome lens with an aperture of f/1.8 but to keep the costs low, there is no OIS present.

Up front, you get a 13MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. Now you’re obviously wondering about the price tag of the Honor V10 and you’ll definitely be surprised to hear these details. The phone will initially be priced at $410 for the base model, with the best version costing $450. So what is the drawback; Huawei intends to keep the Honor V10 exclusive to China for now.

Though you can still purchase it through online retailers, it might be incompatible with your network so you will have to do a bit of research here and there so that you don’t have a paperweight by your side.
