At&t finally broke the silence and started updating the Galaxy Note N910A to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Along side the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge also received the update. At this time, while manufacturers are preparing to update their flagship devices to Android 7.0 Nougat, the 2014 flagships are getting updated to Marshmallow firmware which gives hints towards a very late Android Nougat update for these devices (only if they are going to get it).
Marshmallow firmware brings a lot of goodies with some new graphics added to the device, enhanced battery life and better performance, new toggles and so many features that you haven’t had before. It’s always a good idea to be on the latest firmware as it secures your device keeping it bug free. The new firmware for the Note 4 N910A has already started floating around on the web and is now available for download. Update from Android Lollipop to Android Marshmallow is quite an easy process and we are here to guide you on that.
The succeeding guide illustrates How to update At&t Note 4 N910A from Android 5.1. Lollipop to stock Android Marshmallow. The guide only works for Note 4, do not try this on the Note Edge or any other device as it will simply result in bricking your device. The firmware linked here is untouched and in completely stock state. N910A users can flash it without any hiccups here and there. Let’s go ahead and start updating your At&t Note 4 N910A to official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow now.
Make sure that your device is running on one of the build numbers listed below, and download the firmware according to the last 4 digits of your phone’s build number. Check the build number under Settings > About device > Build number.
*DOIx should be your running firmware and EPH5 is the new Marshmallow firmware.
In case you are on DO12, you need to flash these files one by one to reach DO16 at the least and then flash DO16 to EPH5. The instructions listed below will remain same for all files.
You may checkout the ADB Sideload tutorial if you want to sideload this update rather then flashing it via recovery.
