Huawei P20 Lite is a part of the new P20 series launched by the Chinese manufacturer. The P20 Lite shares its looks with the P20 and P20 Pro. The phone comes with a little less powerful hardware and dual-camera so it’s called the P20 Lite.
An unofficial build of TWRP custom recovery by Pretoriano80 has been made available for the P20 Lite. Those of you who have got this phone or who are planning to get it in near future, they can maximize the features and performance of their phone with the help of TWRP recovery and root. The P20 Lite can be easily rooted by flashing Magisk in the TWRP recovery. Before I walk the P20 Lite owners through the flashing and rooting procedure, I will give you a recap of the P20 Lite.
The P20 Lite was launched in March 2018. The phone comes with a 5.84-inch 1080 x 2280 pixels display. The display of this phone has the aspect ratio of 19:9. There’s a small iPhone-X like notch right in the middle of the display. The notch on the P20 Lite is customizable. Huawei P20 Lite runs on HiSilicon 659 CPU. The phone is a house to a 32GB/64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM. The phone has a 16MP + 2MP dual shooter at the back. On the front, it has a 24MP camera. The P20 Lite has a 3000 mAh battery inside. It runs on Android Oreo out of the box.
In this guide, you will learn how to install TWRP recovery and root Huawei P20 Lite. The guide will first explain what tools you need and what preparations you need to make before rooting your P20 Lite. In the first part of the process, you will flash the TWRP custom recovery on the P20 Lite. Once the TWRP custom recovery has been installed, you will learn to flash Magisk in order to root the phone. Let’s begin now.
Note: Flashing custom recoveries and rooting your phone voids the warranty of your phone. This means after flashing a custom recovery or rooting the phone, you can no longer claim the warranty of your phone and you are not eligible for free services anymore. If you are not new to the recovery and rooting stuff, you can go ahead and follow the method given below. The method is verified and it’s supposed to work perfectly only if you follow each and every single step properly. However, since this is a completely custom process, you still need to be extra careful. Ensure that you are going to root your phone at your own risk. In case something goes wrong, Huawei, the recovery developer or TechBeasts may not be held responsible.
