Installing / Flashing a stock firmware on Samsung Smartphones powered with Android becomes necessary sometimes, in case of soft brick or if your phone is strucked in the bootloop. One of the advantages of installing a Stock Firmware is that, it clears all the junk from your phone, wipes the root access if you’ve rooted it – in simple words, it unroots your phone. The other big advantage of installing a stock firmware manually is, sometimes the OTA updates take a long time to get rolled out in the specific regions while the firmware files are available over the web, and if you have some know-how about the flashing it manually, you may not need to wait for the OTA updates and flash a firmware in 3-4 minutes using Odin through your PC.
We’ll be having a look on the method to Install a Stock Firmware on your Android powered Samsung Device. Follow the steps explained below to the letter to avoid any mishap and get the stock firmware installed on your device successfully.
Backup all your data placed on your phone’s internal storage, contacts, call logs and messages. This is necessary as wiping the factory data after flashing a stock firmware is a good choice in order to make it new and remove all the junk.
That’s All! In case you face any problems, feel free to leave us a comment below. We will try our best to help you out. Thank You!

i didnt get any mdf5 files just got some .rfs .bin files
@disqus_yonc7iMeO0:disqus it is not posssible. Did you download the firmware correctly? You need to extract the zip file, and there should be a .tar.md5 file in that firmware zipped folder.
yap i downloaded from the link above as u mentioned...i extrated there are 5 files
(1)Boot.bin
(2)Cache.rfs
(3)factoryfs.rfs
(4)modem.bin
(5)param.lfs
and 2 more
@disqus_yonc7iMeO0:disqus you are supposed to unzip the file once. You've unzipped the .tar.md5 file.
I am currently on ditto note 3 and want to return to stock rom 4.3 but do not want my phone to get formatted, so should I skip the last step or I have to format the phone in order to return to stock rom

@pratikpatadia:disqus Simply download the latest android from the links provided above and flash it using the above guide to the letter. There is no 4.2.2 for S3 Mini at the moment, you can only flash 4.1.2.
It Was Nearly Completed But Somehow My Computer Restarted... And Odin Closed And It Stopped. What Should I Do ?
@disqus_HfnUHF0uz7:disqus put your phone in download mode again and flash the firmware. No worries.
Thank You... I've Got A More Serious Prob Though... The Battery One :| What Should I Do ?
the odin window is to big for my computer screen and i can't see the start button. I tried clicking in the general area where it should be but no luck, is there another way to get it to start?
@kitagadsby:disqus press control and then scroll down using your mouse, that should zoom out. Let me know if it works or not.
i follewd ur steps but it stopped at <ID:0/003> BcmBoot.img wat i do friend
@disqus_xerG6yZOlw:disqus remove your phone. Goto recovery and wipe factory data, now flash the firmware again. It would be wiser to restart your PC once again. This seems a connection issue.
After I go thru odin steps my phone restarts and automatically open recovery mode and in comand lines it says "failed to mount /dbdata" and "copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount /dbdata your storage not prepared yet."
The same says when I tried to reset factory data and when I restart phone the logo show up but it won't pass this point.
If anyone know how to solve the problem please help

@mitjakova:disqus choose your device's firmware correctly and flash it properly. Let me know what firmware have you downloaded and what's your device's model, I may be able to help then.
Hi. I did all the things you said. After the final restart, my Galaxy Win sticks in the boot, which shows me SAMSUNG logo (highlighting). I downloaded my firmware from samsung-updates:
http://samsung-updates.com/details/24342/Galaxy_Win/GT-I8552/CAC/I8552XXANA5.html
What should I do now? :(
@arminghasemazar:disqus boot into recovery > Wipe Data / Factory Reset / Cache and then flash the stock firmware. It should reboot without any issues now. First boot may take up to 10 minutes.
